Morrissey registered a goal against Ottawa on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Morrissey has goals in consecutive games for the first time this season, giving him sevon total on the year. While the blueliner may not be an offensive force, he is averaging 20:31 of ice time and recorded his second straight 20-plus point campaign.

Morrissey picked up two assists in a 4-3 win over the Red Wings on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Points have been hard to come by for Morrissey recently. Before this game, he had tallied only two points, both assists, in his last 19 contests. The last time he scored a goal was December 17, 30 games ago. Don't look to the 22-year-old to bolster your fantasy numbers.

Morrissey picked up an assist against the Panthers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The tally gave Morrissey his 15th helper of the season, setting a new career-high. The 22-year-old needs just one goal to tie his rookie campaign in which he tickled the twine on six occasions. The defenseman is logging nearly a minute more of ice time this year, so it shouldn't be a surprise to see him outperforming his 2016-17 numbers.

Morrissey picked up the primary assist on Brandon Tanev's game-winning goal against the Predators on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Morrissey won a battle for the puck along the boards and was able to spring Tanev out of the zone and down the ice. The 22-year-old Morrissey is capitalizing on his addition ice time -- over two minutes higher than his season average -- due to the injury to Dustin Byfuglien (upper body), by registering four points in his previous five games.

Morrissey was credited with 10 hits in a 2-1 win over the Kings on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Now with 48 hits this season, Morrissey is no stranger to throwing the body, though the official scorers may have been a little generous in this one (teammate Brandon Tanev racked up seven hits, as well). Nonetheless, that's some prolific production for anyone rostering the rearguard in leagues that count defensive stats, but Morrissey's five points and average power-play time (less than 30 seconds) leave him well off the fantasy radar in most leagues.

Morrissey logged a mere 17:21 of ice time against the Wild on Friday, well below his 19:29 season average.
EDGE Analysis
Morrissey has been used sparingly on the power play, instead focusing his efforts on the penalty kill, which could explain the decrease in minutes. It could also be the result of the defender's minus-5 rating and limited offensive production (two points). Fortunately for the 22-year-old, he shouldn't have to worry about being dropped from the game-day lineup -- even if he doesn't get as many shifts as he had been.

Morrissey picked up a lone helper in 10 outings with Canada at the 2017 IIHF World Championship.
EDGE Analysis
Morrissey played in all 10 outings at Worlds where he recorded a plus-5 rating to go with his singular point. Those numbers are indicative of his role as a shutdown defender with Winnipeg. In his rookie campaign the 22-year-old played in all 82 games while averaging 19:29 of ice time and snagging eights goals and 14 helpers. The Calgary native was used sparingly on the power play and penalty kill this year, but if he can expand his role on special teams next season, he will become a solid top-end fantasy option.

Morrissey will suit up at the 2017 IIHF World Championship for Canada.
EDGE Analysis
Morrissey will join Canada following a solid rookie campaign with the Jets in which he averaged 19:29 of ice time and registered 20 points. Apparently playing in all 82 games wasn't enough for the 22-year-old as he will extend his season into May. Winnipeg will likely give the blueliner an expanded role for the 2017-18 campaign, but whether that shows up on the scoresheet remains to be seen.

Morrissey posted his first-career power-play goal in Friday's 3-1 loss against the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
Morrissey showed no signs of the leg injury which had him listed on the injury report. He has managed four goals with five points over his past nine outings. Morrissey isn't a great fantasy option, but he is worth a look in deeper pools since he continues to trend up lately.

Morrissey (leg) will be ready to play Friday night's game in Anaheim.
EDGE Analysis
Like a true hockey player, Morrissey will tough it out Friday without having to miss any game action to his injury. While it's been nothing outstanding, Morrissey's play has at least been trending up recently, as his two points, eight shots on goal, and plus-3 rating over his last five games will attest.
