Morrissey picked up a lone helper in 10 outings with Canada at the 2017 IIHF World Championship.
EDGE Analysis
Morrissey played in all 10 outings at Worlds where he recorded a plus-5 rating to go with his singular point. Those numbers are indicative of his role as a shutdown defender with Winnipeg. In his rookie campaign the 22-year-old played in all 82 games while averaging 19:29 of ice time and snagging eights goals and 14 helpers. The Calgary native was used sparingly on the power play and penalty kill this year, but if he can expand his role on special teams next season, he will become a solid top-end fantasy option.
