After games, Jaromir Jagr likes to hop on the stationary bike. "I have to make myself tired," the 41-year-old future Hall of Famer explained. "I'm a freak." Well, it's sort of true. Entering tonight's game in San Jose, Jagr leads the Devils with nine goals and 18 points. With three game-winning goals, he's one off the league lead. And, at 41, Jagr is the second-oldest player in the NHL (behind Anaheim's 43-year-old wonder, Teemu Selanne). Said Devils coach Pete DeBoer of Jagr: "It's amazing what he's doing at his age."

Jaromir Jagr tied Mario Lemieux for ninth on the all-time goal-scoring list with an overtime winner that gave the New Jersey Devils an improbable 2-1 victory against the Los Angeles Kings. Jagr's 690th career goal came when he took a pass from Marek Zidlicky and toe-dragged the puck past goalie Ben Scrivens at 2:30 of overtime to pull even with Lemieux. The goal was also Jagr's 18th in overtime, extending his own NHL record, and his team-high ninth of the season. Jagr also tied Gordie Howe for first on the all-time game-winning goals list with No. 121. Jagr also has nine assists in 22 games this season. Ryan Carter scored the other goal for the Devils.

Jaromir Jagr, even at 41, remains a first-rate producer and a key fantasy team contributor. Jagr leads the Devils in scoring with 16 points, (seven goals, nine assists) and is plus-9 with two game-winning goals. He is the New Jersey leader in all those categories, sharing the lead with Marek Zidlicky in assists. At this pace, Jagr would finish the season with 65 points and 28 goals if he played all 82 games. Those would be his highest offensive totals since 2006-07 with the Rangers.

Jaromir Jagr netted two goals (one via the empty net) for the Devils as they defeated the Penguins on Saturday night 4-1. Let's just say Jagr is not your average 41-year-old athlete. What the surefire Hall of Famer lacks in speed, he makes up with ridiculous hockey-smarts and tremendous ability to protect the puck. He still has great hands, too. His seven goals and 16 points this season lead the team. Andy Greene and Adam Larsson picked up the other goals. Dainus Zubrus had two helpers.

New Jersey Devils winger Jaromir Jagr is one point away from hitting the 1,700 point mark. That would make him the eighth person in NHL history to do so. He's leading the Devils in scoring so far in 2013-14, with 11 points in 17 games played. Jagr's Devils face the Nashville Predators on Sunday.

There was some confusion last night as to whether Jaromir Jagr's game-winning goal actually broke the NHL record. As we reported, Jagr's 119th game-winning goal put him in sole possession of second place and just two shy of Gordie Howe. However, Jagr even posed for pictures with what was thought to be the record-breaking puck Tuesday night. Why? It was actually due to an error from the Boston Bruins when he was playing with them last season. Jagr netted his 118th game-winning goal with them last season and the Bruins started incorrectly reporting that Jagr had tied the record. When the Devils signed him, they started to report the same inaccurate information. The NHL website only has game-winning goals statistics dating back to 1967-68, so that's likely the cause of the mixup.

Jaromir Jagr scored the 119th game-winning goal of his marvellous career Tuesday night, breaking Phil Esposito's record for the most in NHL history. Jagr's record breaker came midway through the second period as the ageless Czech blasted home his third goal and tenth point in 10 games this season. The Devils hung on to beat the Bolts 2-1.

Coach Peter DeBoer called Jaromir Jagr his best forward. DeBoer said that Jagr has been his best forward all season and was "a beast again last night". The 41-year-old Jagr on the other hand, feels he needs to score more. "I have to start scoring," Jagr said. "I don't score as many goals as I would like to or have as many chances. It might have something to do with my sticks. I had to change my sticks this year. The company I (got) my sticks from went into bankruptcy. It's not easy when you're 41 to change all of a sudden. The game is so quick, a little difference and you lose the puck." Jagr has only two goals this season but with his pair of power play assists Saturday, he now has seven helpers.
