Jaromir Jagr and Teemu Selanne will probably have their final match against each other on Friday.
Although Jagr is interested in extending his career, Selanne has already announced his plans to retire following the 2013-14 campaign. They're two of the greatest players to ever play the game and both rank in the top-15 in the NHL's all-time goals and points lists. Of course, as Jagr noted, there's an outside possibility of them meeting in the Stanley Cup Final. New Jersey isn't likely to even make the playoffs, but they might end up trading Jagr to a contender, so you never know...

Jaromir Jagr's game-winning goal against the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday was historic.
It was the 693rd goal of Jagr's career, which moved him into sole possession of eighth place in the NHL's all-time goal list. He surpassed Steve Yzerman as a result and is just one goal shy of tying Mark Messier. Jagr also broke the NHL record for career game-winning goals with 122. He had been tied with Gordie Howe. "That's an unbelievable feat, especially with the names on the list he's around and passing," Devils coach Pete DeBoer said. "That's an unbelievable accomplishment."

Jaromir Jagr continued his outstanding season with a couple of assists in the Devils 3-0 win Saturday.
Jagr now has 11 goals and 28 points in 34 games with a plus-11 rating as the 41-year-old continues to confound everyone with his play for New Jersey. He is worth owning at this time.

Jaromir Jagr said that he wants to play in the NHL as long as someone still wants him.
Jagr will turn 42 in mid-February but is still performing at a pace that you would expect of a player in his mid-twenties. He has 11 goals and 24 points in 31 games this season with a plus-nine rating. Jagr has 692 career goals and 1712 career points, numbers that would be significantly better had he decided to remain in the NHL rather than play three seasons in the KHL five years ago.

Devils coach Pete DeBoer is worried that he's been overusing Jaromir Jagr.
Jagr is averaging 18:43 minutes per game, but he's also logged over 22 minutes in each of his last two contests. He's 42 years old, but DeBoer insists his concerns aren't related to Jagr's age. "I look at the fact that this is an Olympic year, he's probably a guy that's going to go to the Olympics, we're in a condensed schedule," DeBoer said. "The minutes have just been a little bit high, that's all. He's earned them and he's been key in getting some of the of wins in some of those games, but for me the bigger issues is I shouldn't have to play him that much." We doubt Jagr's playing time will decrease enough to meaningfully impact his fantasy value.

With his goal against the Carolina Hurricanes Friday, Jaromir Jagr of the New Jersey Devils tied Steve Yzerman for eighth place on the NHL's all-time scoring list.
And the 41-year-old star of the New Jersey Devils says he never would be enjoying such lofty status were it not for Ron Francis, his former linemate with Pittsburgh and now the Carolina Hurricanes' vice-president of hockey operations. "People think a lot about us playing on a line with Mario (Lemieux) and I never did. I was playing with Ron Francis," Jagr said. "I was playing with Mario on the power play, but five on five Ronnie Francis was my center for seven, eight years. He probably assisted on most of the goals I scored. The thing is, he gave me the extra confidence. Sometimes you go into a game and you have to score goals and you don't feel right. But I had him. So I never felt I wasn't going to score. Even if I didn't feel well I knew if I played bad he can make me look good."

Jaromir Jagr racked up a goal and two assists in the Devils' win over Carolina on Friday evening.
Jagr evens his goals and assists total, making it 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 26 games this season. Not too shabby for a 41 year old. Jagr also tied Steve Yzerman for eighth place on the all-time goals list.

Ahead of the Devils' game against Carolina, Jaromir Jagr took the time to thank Ron Francis for a fair amount of his early success.
"People think a lot about us playing on a line with Mario (Lemieux) and I never did. I was playing with Ron Francis," Jagr said of his time with Pittsburgh. "I was playing with Mario on the power play, but five on five Ronnie Francis was my center for seven, eight years. He probably assisted on most of the goals I scored." Francis eventually joined the Hurricanes and served as the team's captain until he retired in 2004. Jagr recently surpassed Lemieux in the all-time goals chart and needs just one more marker to tie Steve Yzerman for eighth place.

Jaromir Jagr's goal on Wednesday put him in sole possession of ninth place in the NHL's all-time goal scoring list.
With that, Jagr has surpassed his former teammate Mario Lemieux. Jagr now has 691 career goals, just one shy of Steve Yzerman and three away from Mark Messier. Instead of talking about besting Lemieux's total, Jagr chose to discuss the scoring chance he couldn't capitalize on. The 41-year-old has 10 goals and 19 points in 25 games this season.

Jaromir Jagr registered his 10th goal of the season in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Carolina.
The ageless wonder has been an excellent addition for the goal-starved Devils with 19 points in 25 games, good for the team lead in scoring. Travis Zajac and Andy Greene also scored for New Jersey in the losing effort.
