It still hasn't been determined if Jaromir Jagr (lower body) will be healthy enough to play in either of the Devils' final two preseason games. The Devils will play against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday and Thursday. Jagr hasn't even practiced with the team since Sept. 10, although he has been skating on his own recently. Devils coach Peter DeBoer remains optimistic about Jagr's chances of being ready for the regular season, but rust has to be a concern at this point.

New Jersey Devils head coach Peter DeBoer said that he expects Jaromir Jagr to play in the team's season-opener. "I believe he'll be ready. That's just my opinion," DeBoer said. "I'd like to see him in an exhibition game or two in a perfect world, but I think he'll be ready." It's wise to use caution with the 41-year-old winger, as injuries might be an issue all season long.

Good news for New Jersey Devils fans who might be upset about Ryane Clowe's injury: Jaromir Jagr is expected to practice with the team on Friday. Despite being 41, Jagr's fitness regimen is well-known around the league. He's missed patches of games the last couple years, however, so it's important to factor health into consideration when drafting the future Hall of Famer.
