Until there is more information released on the severity of Luongo's injury, it's likely wise to avoid making any hasty roster decisions with both netminders.

Reimer looked excellent Sunday, and his 27 saves included a perfect nine for nine on the power play. The Canadian is likely to split time with Roberto Luongo during the 2017-18 season, a role where he's excelled over his career. With Luongo now 38 years old, he could even see an increase in playing time this year from the 43 starts he accumulated last season.

EDGE Analysis

Even though the Capitals rested a couple of their stars, Washington still dominated possession, outshooting Florida 38-21. So clearly, this was one of his better performances (and third shutout) of the season. With this, he finishes a pretty strong first season as the backup in Florida. In 43 games, he went 18-16-5 with a 2.52 GAA and .920 save percentage.
