The Panthers are about to face the Buds for the fifth time this season, with Reimer facing his former team in all of them despite of a 1-1-0 record, 4.00 GAA and .867 save percentage. Of course, the Panthers have little choice but to go with Reimer since Roberto Luongo (lower body) is merely hoping he can play again this season.

Reimer allowed four goals on 22 shots and was pulled during the second period of Monday's loss to Buffalo.

After winning consecutive games and allowing just a single goal in the process, Reimer stunk up the joint again Monday. He's posted a 4-6 record with a .904 save percentage and 3.06 GAA over his past 10 outings and hasn't taken advantage of his opportunity with Roberto Luongo (lower body) on the shelf. Still, while Reimer is worth considering in favorable matchups, he shouldn't be viewed as a reliable fantasy asset.

Reimer has been solid throughout the year with a .920 save percentage, and he was even better his last time out, with a 25-save shutout against the Blackhawks. The Sabres haven't been an offensive juggernaut, averaging only 2.48 goals per game, so Reimer will have a chance to continue his momentum Monday.

Dang, that was sweet. Optimus Reims has struggled since taking the starter reins, so this was a nice boost to his confidence. Reimer will continue to get the starts until Robert Luongo returns.

Reimer will get the home start Saturday against the Blackhawks.

Before a good game against lowly Arizona, Reimer posted a 3.50 GAA and a .896 save percentage in his prior seven games. The Panthers are also 3-7-0 in their last 10 contests, so it's hard to be terribly excited about Reimer against the Blackhawks.

Reimer saved 22 of 23 shots during Thursday's win over Arizona.

EDGE Analysis

After going 2-6-1 with a .911 save percentage and 3.13 GAA over nine starts with Roberto Luongo (lower body) on the shelf, this was a nice bounce-back showing from Reimer. However, beating a basement-dwelling club in your own rink isn't exactly an indication that Reimer is about to turn things around entirely. Florida hosts Chicago on Saturday before heading out on a four-game road trip, so it's also a tough upcoming schedule.

The 29-year-old actually hasn't looked bad even with limited rest, posting a .911 save percentage in 11 games since Feb. 22, but he is just 2-8-1 and owns a 3.12 GAA during that stretch. Those poor numbers are mostly the result of poor play in front of Reimer, but regardless, it's killing his fantasy value. It isn't likely to improve either, as Florida is essentially out of the playoff race.

Reimer hasn't been particularly effective in the lead role following Roberto Luongo's lower-body injury March 2, posting just a 3.20 GAA and .907 save percentage in seven starts since then. He will be tested again Sunday against the league's top scoring club (3.46 goals per game) as the Panthers look to hang on in the playoff race.

Reimer allowed three goals on 32 shots in Friday's 4-3 shootout win against the Rangers.

Reimer has been impressive over his past four outings, allowing a total of 10 goals with two victories. He faced playoff contenders in each of the four games and he looked good.
