Jakub Voracek has been selected as the NHL's first star of the week. Voracek exploded last week with four goals and 11 points in just four contests. He's also shaping up to be a strong contender for the monthly award after recording 19 points in his last 13 games.

Jakub Voracek has gotten off to a tremendous start. Voracek has seven goals and 22 points in 20 games this season. A lot of that is courtesy of him being moved to the top line with Claude Giroux. Voracek has four goals and 11 points in his last four contests. "Skating is a key to his success," Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said. "He's a talented guy. When he uses his speed and quickness, he is able to generate a lot of offense. Since he's been here, he's gotten the opportunity to move the puck around with some decent players." Enjoy his current hot streak if you're fortunate enough to have him. He should be worth owning even after he cools down.

Jakub Voracek registered three assists in the Flyers' 5-3 win over the Jets Saturday night. Is anyone in the NHL hotter right now than Voracek? The Flyers winger has a whopping 16 points (5 G, 11 A) over his past nine games. He also has 22 points in his last 20 games. He should obviously be owned and started in all formats.

Jakub Voracek scored his seventh goal of the season in the Flyers' 5-2 loss to Florida on Thursday. Voracek has been white-hot over the past week, registering eight points in his last three games and bringing him to 19 points in as many games for the year. Luke Schenn was the other Philly goal scorer in the loss.

Jakub Voracek scored the first hat trick of his career Wednesday night in a wild 6-5 win over Pittsburgh. He scored his third goal of the game from behind the goal line when his centering pass went off Penguins netminder Tomas Vokoun and into the net with just 1:31 remaining in regulation. "I was just trying to throw it at the net so someone could get a rebound," Voracek said of his winning goal. "But it took a lucky bounce, and I'll take it." He doubled his goal output for the season in the contest and currently has 18 points in 18 games.

Jakub Voracek had a hat trick in Philadelphia's 6-5 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. Voracek has an incredible seven points in his last two games and now has 15 points in 11 contests this month. His stock can't be much higher right now and might not be this high again for quite some time. He's not going to collapse, but we doubt he'll finish the season with a point-per-game. Look for him to cool down to the point where he ends up with about 35 points in 2013.

Jakub Voracek had four assists in Philadelphia's 7-0 win against the New York Islanders on Monday. That gives Voracek a superb 12 points in 10 games this month. Matt Read scored a goal and registered two assists for the Flyers. Brayden Schenn had his fourth goal and ninth assist in 16 contests this season. Zac Rinaldo found the back of the net for the first time in 2013.

Jakub Voracek chipped in two assists Tuesday during Philadelphia's 3-2 win against Winnipeg. He contributed to Brayden Schenn's third goal of the season and he had the lone helper on Tye McGinn's game-winning tally early in the third period. Voracek has 10 points in 14 games now after getting off to a sluggish start. Defenseman Kimmo Timonen's power-play marker represented the Flyers' other goal in the contest.

Coach Peter Laviolette has moved Jakub Voracek onto the Flyers' top line with Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell. Voracek started the season on the team's second unit but now replaces Brayden Schenn alongside Giroux, which is a much better place for him fantasy-wise. We were already high on Voracek's chances for strong season but this only increases our optimism, especially if the placement becomes permanent.

Jakub Voracek will start on the Flyers' second unit alongside Sean Couturier and Max Talbot. That's not a bad spot to be in but's not the same as lining up beside Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell. We still expect Voracek to have a strong season but it could have been a breakout one if he were to get top-line minutes.
