Jacob Markstrom was recalled from San Antonio (AHL) to serve as Scott Clemmensen's backup for tonight's Game 6 in New Jersey. Jose Thoedore is hurting and will not dress for tonight's contest. That necessitated a call for Markstrom. Coach Kevin Dineen, however, is allowing for the possibility that Theodore may play.

Jacob Markstrom (knee) has been sent down to AHL San Antonio. Markstrom was called up because Jose Theodore was dealing with a knee injury, but then Markstrom also ended up on the sidelines. Theodore and Scott Clemmensen are both healthy at this point, so it's not surprising that Markstrom was sent to the minors.

Jacob Markstrom (knee) took part in the Panthers' morning skate on Thursday. Both Jose Theodore and Scott Clemmensen are healthy now, so Markstrom will probably be sent to the minors when he's ready to play. Markstrom has a 2.66 GAA and .923 save percentage in seven games with the Panthers this season.

Jacob Markstrom skated before practice on Thursday for the first time since undergoing minor surgery early last month. He said he feels much better and he faced some shots. It's unclear when he will be available to return, but the Panthers will probably return him to the minors when he's healthy.

Panthers goalie Jacob Markstrom has a "knee procedure" scheduled for Wednesday, according to the team. The goalie hurt his knee during Sunday's practice and while the results of an MRI were encouraging, a second opinion was sought in the form of renowned surgeon Dr. John Uribe. It is Uribe who will handle the procedure and little else was known at the time of this posting. Markstrom is 2-4-1 with a 2.66 GAA.

Jacob Markstrom's knee injury appears to be serious, according to coach Kevin Dineen. "It's not great news. We'll have more information tomorrow, said the Florida bench boss after Monday's win over Vancouver. "It's going to be a little while before he's back in the swing of things. Unfortunately, my own prognosis yesterday was inaccurate." Markstrom is going to get a second opinion on his injury Tuesday.

The Panthers are hoping Jacob Markstrom's knee injury isn't serious. That being said, Markstrom isn't expected to serve as the team's starter or backup on Monday. Markstrom left Sunday's practice due to the ailment.

Jacob Markstrom left the Florida Panthers' practice on Sunday after tweaking his knee. On one hand, the Panthers said that Markstrom's issue shouldn't be serious. That being said, Markstrom underwent surgery on that knee last season, so there's some reason for concern. With Jose Theodore on the sidelines, this could give Scott Clemmensen some short-term added value.
