Andersen will start for the sixth straight game Saturday, fielding shots from the visiting Blackhawks, NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Outside of Tuesday's dud against Florida in which he yielded three goals on eight shots, Freddie's been productive in March, securing four wins in five of the other outings. He's faced this Chicago team once already this season, but it was just his fourth appearance on the campaign and resulted in an overtime loss on the road. The Great Dane really needs support from rookie phenom Auston Matthews, who's mired in a seven-game pointless drought.

Andersen was the first star of the game Thursday after delivering a 33-save, 5-0 win over the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen was solid throughout, but particularly sharp when he stopped Brayden Point's power-play breakaway at the mid-point of the second. It was Andersen's fourth shutout this season and 10th of his career.

Andersen will start in net Thursday, taking on the host Lightning, TSN's Mark Masters reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tampa Bay is smack dab in the middle of the league when it comes to home scoring at 2.97 goals per contest, though its still hurting down the middle with Tyler Johnson, Vladislav Namestnikov, and Cedric Paquette unavailable because of lower-body ailments and top pivot Steven Stamkos (knee) not quite ready to return. Andersen was prematurely pulled from his last start after yielding three goals on eight shots to the Panthers, but that could be an aberration as he had a three-game winning streak coming in.

Andersen stopped just five of eight shots before being pulled Tuesday in Florida.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen made it through under 15 minutes of this 7-2 loss before being replaced by Curtis McElhinney. His backup conceded four goals himself, and remains no threat to Andersen's starting job. Still, this was an unexpectedly poor outing from the Dane after he had held five straight opponents to two or fewer goals.

Andersen is expected to start in Florida on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Toronto and Florida are both fighting for the last wildcard sport in the East, so this is one of the most important games of the year for both sides. Andersen will be riding a three-game winning streak into this contest, but the Panthers will be looking to turn around a slump of losing eight of the past nine. These past three games have been remarkable for the 27-year-old, deflecting 94 of the 100 shots he faced. The way Andersen has been playing should earn the respect of a start in most leagues.

Andersen allowed two goals on 38 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Hurricanes.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen settled down midway through the game and was a stone wall, including saves on all 12 shots he faced in the third period and overtime. It was a huge two points for the Leafs, as they jockey for a playoff spot in a logjam for the final seeds in the Eastern Conference.

Andersen will be the road starter against the Hurricanes on Saturday, Kristen Shilton of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has a 2.71 GAA, although that's partially because the Maple Leafs have allowed 32.6 shots on net per game. However, Carolina has only averaged 2.47 goals per game, so maybe it won't be that tough of a night for Andersen.

Fri 3/10/17 2:28 AM

Andersen gave up just two goals on 38 shots in Thursday's 4-2 victory over the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
He fell behind early with the first goal, but the second was a desperation-time tally. Andersen's now won two straight games for the first time since Jan. 23 and 25, which is pretty incredible for a guy who owns 26 wins this season. Of course, he also has 27 losses (including 13 in overtime). The Leafs' defense is still very much a work in progress, but Andersen is in place on a long-term deal to be the beneficiary of that progress.

Andersen will guard the goal in Thursday's home game against the Flyers, TSN's Kristen Shilton reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has played well recently, registering an admirable 1.96 GAA and .937 save percentage over his last three appearances, but the Danish netminder has only picked up a single win over that span due to a lack of goal support from his teammates. The 2012 third-round pick will look to stay dialed in and pick up his 26th victory of the campaign in a favorable home matchup with a Flyers club that's 12-16-4 on the road this season.

Tue 3/7/17 11:40 PM

Andersen stopped 22 of 24 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
He had a 3-0 lead late in the second period, only to give up a goal to Gustav Nyquist with 38 seconds left in the frame, then another Nyquist goal 36 seconds into the third. However, Andersen was able to hold on thereafter, earning his way back into the win column for the first time since Feb. 21. Despite this being his first victory in five starts, he has a .938 save mark in that span.
