Lack (illness) is undergoing further testings with a decision forthcoming about his availability Tuesday against New Jersey.
EDGE Analysis
Lack has not gotten into a game since a brief relief appearance in early November due to various maladies and the workhorse durability of starter Cam Ward. If Lack is not cleared to play, Carolina will recall a netminder from the minors rather than relying on equipment manager Jorge Alves to serve as the backup.

Lack (illness) won't suit up for Saturday's game against Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
With Lack unavailable Saturday, the Hurricanes were forced to sign Jorge Alves, the team's equipment manager, to a professional tryout contract so he can serve as Cam Ward's backup against the Lightning. Lack will hope to overcome his illness in time for Tuesday's matchup with Devils.

Lack (concussion) is in the lineup for Friday's game in Boston and will serve as the backup to Cam Ward.
EDGE Analysis
Lack is healthy enough to play, but won't get an opportunity to start until at least after the NHL's Christmas break. Michael Leighton will head back down to the minors in a corresponding move.

Lack (concussion) will not travel with the team for Thursday's matchup with the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
Lack has been sidelined for since early November, a stretch of 18 games thus far. Fortunately for the netminder, 35-year-old Michael Leighton has been unimpressive at best in relief, so Lack should reclaim the backup role once he is cleared to return. Regardless of who is the No. 2, Carolina will ride Cam Ward for the bulk of the season.

Lack (concussion) took part in Monday's game-day skate, but will remain sidelined against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
The team announced that Lack was going to undergo further testing and treatment following Monday's skate, but it is an encouraging step for the netminder regardless of the outcome. In the meantime, Michael Leighton will continue to serve in the backup role until Lack is cleared to return.

Lack was moved to injured reserve Monday due to a concussion.
EDGE Analysis
Lack suffered the concussion during Monday's practice session, but should be able to rejoin the team when healthy since he hasn't played in a game since Nov. 10. The team recalled Michael Leighton to back up Cam Ward for the time being, while Lack will need to clear concussion protocol before returning to the lineup.

Lack gave up three goals on 20 shots in Sunday's loss to the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
Another rough night for Lack, who was burned for six goals in his last outing against the Flyers. The 28-year-old drops to 1-2-1 on the season with a .856 save percentage. Lack certainly is doing himself any favors when it comes to the starting goalie battle between himself and Cam Ward. Carolina sits dead last in the Eastern Conference with a minus-9 goal differential right now, so it's probably best to stay away from Lack for the time being.

Lack will be the starter for Sunday's game against New Jersey, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News and Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
After Ward played on Saturday, it seemed clear that Lack would start Sunday's game of the back-to-back. Ward has looked good in his last few starts, solidifying his position on the top of the depth chart, so Lack will likely be seeing the lesser role of the timeshare.

Lack finished with 21 saves in a 6-3 loss to the Flyers on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
We recently told you he was hit-and-miss, and this was a big miss. Lack pretty much played sieve Saturday night and did little to demonstrate his potential to assume the starter's reins. The Canes are suffering in net this season and Lack needs to step up.

Lack will start in goal Saturday night against host Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
The Swede has been hit-or-miss this season, as he underwhelmed in the season-opening overtime loss to the Canucks -- four goals allowed on 31 shots -- but looked brilliant in the subsequent start against the Flames on Thursday, turning in a .923 save mark en route to a 4-2 victory. The Hurricanes are very loyal to No. 1 backstop Cam Ward, having signed him to four different contracts over his career, but Lack seems poised to cut into the elder goalie's playing time in 2016-17. Helping Lack's case is how Ward has gone winless with an unsightly .852 save percentage through a pair of starts.
