Carolina sits dead last in the Eastern Conference with a minus-9 goal differential right now, so it's probably best to stay away from Lack for the time being.

After Ward played on Saturday, it seemed clear that Lack would start Sunday's game of the back-to-back. Ward has looked good in his last few starts, solidifying his position on the top of the depth chart, so Lack will likely be seeing the lesser role of the timeshare.

The Hurricanes are very loyal to No. 1 backstop Cam Ward, having signed him to four different contracts over his career, but Lack seems poised to cut into the elder goalie's playing time in 2016-17. Helping Lack's case is how Ward has gone winless with an unsightly .852 save percentage through a pair of starts.
