David Booth (groin) skated hard at practice Monday. Booth has been out since the first day of training camp and there is still no timetable for his return although to be skating hard has to be a good sign. Consider him day-to-day for now.

While the exact timeframes are uncertain, winger David Booth expects that Ryan Kesler will return to action before he does. Booth continues to rehab a groin injury he suffered prior to the season while undergoing the team's fitness test. He's an integral part of the Canucks' secondary scoring presence and will likely find himself paired with Kesler once each of the team return to full participation.

David Booth (groin) skated before practice on Sunday. He did not stay on the ice when the regulars showed up for practice and coach Alain Vigneault said there were no new updates on Booth. Booth was supposed to be out four-six weeks with the strained groin and that would mean a return in mid-late February if he is on target.

David Booth will miss four to six weeks with a strained groin. Booth apparently injured himself during the pre-camp physicals. The month-plus timeline is an absolute killer in this shortened season and it's possible we won't see Booth back in action until the middle of March. While originally thought he could reach 30 points in 48 games, that projection takes a drastic hit given the injury. Owners should back away from Booth in almost all formats at this point. Expect Jordan Schroeder and Andrew Ebbett to get a crack at replacing Booth on the Canucks' second line.

David Booth will have an MRI on his strained groin. He suffered the ailment in the past few days and the MRI should determine his status for the start of the season. Booth registered 16 goals and 30 points in 62 games last year for the Canucks.

David Booth potted two goals in the Vancouver Canucks' 5-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night. Booth's markers give him 13 on the season and his first in nine games. Newly-acquired Zack Kassian (fourth) had the other goal with less than three minutes remaining in the third period, and he also had an assist. Aaron Rome finished the game a minus-three.

David Booth played his first NHL game in Detroit on Thursday. Booth is a native of the Detroit area and his first game in his hometown after playing six years in the NHL meant a lot to him. "It was pretty special," Booth said. "The most important part was winning on the road against a great team. The game lived up to expectations. I hope I get a lot more chances to play in this building." The Canucks ended the Red Wings 23 game winning streak at 'The Joe' with a 4-3 win in a shootout.
