"If given the opportunity, I can really be a force in this league," Booth said. "I can't change the way I play because injuries are part of the game. It's a man's game out there. I've still got to take pucks to the net and finish my hits, and that's the way I play my game. I don't want to get away from that. If you play the game afraid, that's when you get hurt." Booth had been injury prone in three of the last four years, missing 110 games in that span. If healthy he can get 20 goals and 50 points but he is not worth selecting at this time because of the injury risk.

Booth is scheduled to count $4.25 million against the salary cap next season.

He has been hampered by injuries since joining the Vancouver Canucks from Florida and carries a $4.25 million cap hit for the next two seasons. Vancouver GM Mike Gillis said there will be changes after the team's troubling end to the 2013 campaign. It wouldn't be surprising if Booth and/or Keith Ballard may be removed from the team's roster.
