David Booth will be playing for the Vancouver Canucks in their exhibition game tonight.
Booth has received medical clearance to play after undergoing ankle surgery in March. He is aiming to take a spot on the second line alongside Ryan Kesler and Alex Burrows and, if healthy, could be a valuable acquisition for fantasy players.

David Booth (ankle) finally practiced on Wednesday.
Booth received clearance to practice from the medical staff after undergoing ankle surgery in March. He is expected to play in a pre-season game within the next week and is hoping to grab the spot on the second line alongside Ryan Kesler and Alex Burrows. "If given the opportunity, I can really be a force in this league," Booth said. "I can't change the way I play because injuries are part of the game. It's a man's game out there. I've still got to take pucks to the net and finish my hits, and that's the way I play my game. I don't want to get away from that. If you play the game afraid, that's when you get hurt." Booth had been injury prone in three of the last four years, missing 110 games in that span. If healthy he can get 20 goals and 50 points but he is not worth selecting at this time because of the injury risk.

David Booth (ankle) hasn't received clearance yet and it's unclear if he'll be ready for training camp.
He underwent surgery on his ankle in March and is working on trying to be healthy for September. Booth scored one goal last year into an empty net and he posted two assists in 12 appearances. If he's not ready for the start of camp then it could open a spot for a player like Nicklas Jensen to move up.

David Booth (ankle) hasn't resumed skating yet.
His agent said that the Canucks winger still has a screw in his ankle, but he remains on pace to be healthy in September. Booth had surgery on his ankle on March 22nd and he skated in just 12 games last season.

David Booth's agent says his client actually fractured his ankle and tore ligaments when he was injured in mid-March.
Booth's injury was originally reported as a sprain, but that seemed unlikely when he needed surgery. There has been speculation the Canucks would like to use a compliance buyout on Booth, but this injury throws a pretty large monkey wrench into those plans. As long as Booth is injured, Vancouver's unable to use that tool and the serious nature of the injury means Booth is unlikely to be healthy by the buyout deadline. Booth is scheduled to count $4.25 million against the salary cap next season.

David Booth may be candidate for a buyout this off-season.
He has been hampered by injuries since joining the Vancouver Canucks from Florida and carries a $4.25 million cap hit for the next two seasons. Vancouver GM Mike Gillis said there will be changes after the team's troubling end to the 2013 campaign. It wouldn't be surprising if Booth and/or Keith Ballard may be removed from the team's roster.

David Booth will miss the rest of the regular season following surgery on his injured ankle.
He may return during the playoffs but that will probably depend how far the Canucks can advance and if his recover goes well. Booth has been limited to 12 games this season, where he generated only one goal and three points.

David Booth (ankle) has been placed on injured reserve.
Booth had an MRI Monday but the results were not revealed. He is out indefinitely and can be released in pools as he only had three points in 12 games before the ankle injury.

David Booth still needs to undergo an MRI on his leg.
Booth was seen leaving Saturday's game in crutches after sustaining the injury in the first period of Vancouver's 5-2 loss to Detroit. Consider him out indefinitely until further details are revealed.

David Booth registered his second assist of the season.
Booth is still searching for his first goal after playing in nine games. He's only averaging 13:24 minutes per game and almost none of that ice time is with the man advantage. That's a big part of the reason we can't recommend him in standard leagues.
