David Booth was unable to register a goal or an assist in his first game after being traded by the Florida Panthers.
The Vancouver Canucks are hoping that the budding power forward can add some life to their second line, but he was unable to produce a point in Tuesday's game. He played almost 16 minutes and fired three shots on goal, so he at least attempted to make an impact. He might not have a ton of value until Ryan Kesler returns, though. Cody Hodgson scored a goal in the game, so maybe he won't lose out as much to Booth as originally expected.

David Booth reportedly "broke down in tears" upon hearing that he was traded from the Florida Panthers to the Vancouver Canucks.
The power forward made it easier for Dale Tallon to make that swap since he recorded a measly assist in his six games this season. Better linemates and a big burst of angry motivation could make Booth a low-risk, high-reward fantasy pickup - especially if he eventually lines up with fellow Michigan native Ryan Kesler. Snatch him up now if he's a free agent in your league.

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired forward David Booth from the Florida Panthers.
Along with Booth the Canucks also received Steven Reinprecht and a third round pick in 2012. Booth, the center piece of the deal, will be a nice addition for the Canucks. Last season he had 23 goals and 17 assists. He should fit in nicely with Ryan Kesler on the second line. His fantasy value gets a boost for sure.

We expect David Booth to rebound from a sub par 2010-11 campaign.
He registered only 40 points in 82 games after a concussion-plagued season in 2009-10. Booth has been staying in shape and is looking forward to playing for new coach Kevin Dineen. "...He's a very positive guy that's going to try to change this culture here and move us in the right direction. That's what we need. So I'm really excited to meet him and play for him. Already excited for the year and it's just June 9th", said Booth. We look for Booth to rebound somewhat next season and wouldn't be surprised if he registered 30 goals and 55 points.
