Despite having not scored a goal yet this season, Canucks coach Alain Vigneault is satisfied with the play of David Booth.
Booth has suited up in eight games since returning from injury in February and has yet to find the back of the net despite firing 20 shots on goals. Coach Vigneault identified both he and the struggling Zack Kassian as players who have suffered through bad luck of late, saying "I'm looking at Zack's game right now, and David Booth's, and they're doing everything they can possibly do to help us on the score sheet. They're not getting any breaks right now. So, what we have to do as a group, as a coaching staff, is stay supportive." Once Booth breaks his drought we like his chances of beginning a hot streak.

David Booth (illness) appears set to make his return to the lineup Tuesday night against the Phoenix Coyotes.
Booth has played in only three games this season due to illness and a groin injury. He's expected to take Aaron Volpatti's place in the lineup. His lack of playing time thus far and limited point value makes him a frustrating player to own, but hopefully he'll be able to stay in the lineup for longer than a week this time around.

David Booth (illness) skated on Monday.
Booth could return as early as Tuesday to the lineup but will likely be a game time decision. He has only played in three games this season as he suffered a groin injury on the opening day of training camp.

Vancouver Canucks winger David Booth will miss yet another game, but the good news is that it's because he's sick, not injured.
He's barely been action this season and he's already missing more. That's very frustrating for those who went out on a limb to draft him, but at least he just has some sort of sickness.

David Booth spent practice on Wednesday on the third line with Mason Raymond and Jordan Schoeder.
Booth played his first game of the season on Tuesday on the fourth line and it was thought he would move up the depth chart. Look for him to eventually get second line minutes for the Canucks. He is worth a shot in deeper leagues, especially if he sees power play time.

Vancouver head coach Alain Vigneault says he saw nothing wrong with Jannik Hanssen's hit to the head of Chicago's Marion Hossa, suggesting the officials got bullied into a penalty by Chicago captain Jonathan Toews.
Unfortunately for the Hawks, Hossa's game was stopped 70 seconds into the third when Jannik Hansen seemed to inadvertently hit him from behind on a play that started with the Dane and Hossa going for the puck. It was chilling to see Hossa lying on the ice in the aftermath, motionless with an apparent head injury. Instantly you think back to what ended his playoffs last season when a cheap, vicious Raffi Torres head shot forced Hossa out of the game on a stretcher. The NHL will hold a hearing with Hanssen today. "It wasn't even a penalty," Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault said. "Both the referees looked at the play, and until (Chicago captain Jonathan) Toews went out to talk to them it wasn't a penalty." What about supplementary discipline for Hansen? "Not a chance," Vigneault said. "He was trying to grab a puck in the air." Canucks forward David Booth said: "For my perspective, there was zero intent to injure there."

David Booth (groin) will make his return to the lineup Tuesday night and skate on the fourth line.
Booth has been sidelined since the first day of training camp. He'll start tonight's game on the fourth line, but it probably won't be long before he moves up to play on more of a scoring line.

David Booth (groin) has been medically cleared to play.
Booth has been out of action since the first day of training camp. It is possible that he could be reinstated in time for tonight's game against Chicago and if he is, he will see fourth line duty. "I know if I need him to play, I can use him," Coach Alain Vigneault said. "We'll make that call Tuesday. He's practiced enough and if it's his call, he would want to be in." Stay tuned.
