Daniel Alfredsson is having such a good time playing for the Red Wings he may return for the 2014-15 season.
The Wings only signed the former Senators' captain to a one-year $5.5 million contract believing that he would only play one more year. However, Alfredsson has been effective in Detroit with 37 points and is certainly enjoying his time in the Motor City. "It was a big change moving and it took a little bit to get accustomed to everything, for it to feel natural coming to the rink, but I feel very welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed my time here," Alfredsson said. "As far as everything around the city, I have no questions about my future here. If my body and mind tells me there's more to give, I would definitely look forward to an opportunity to come back." This will certainly be a story to watch in the offseason.

Daniel Alfredsson was used on the point alongside Erik Karlsson on the power play for Sweden in Wednesday's tournament-opening win against the Czech Republic.
It was somewhat surprising that Phoenix blueliner Oliver Ekman-Larsson didn't get a chance to play with the top unit with the man advantage, but it's hard to argue with the result the team enjoyed in the game. Look for the veteran Alfredsson to maintain his role for the time being with Ekman-Larsson waiting with bated breath for an opportunity.
