Daniel Alfredsson was used on the point alongside Erik Karlsson on the power play for Sweden in Wednesday's tournament-opening win against the Czech Republic. It was somewhat surprising that Phoenix blueliner Oliver Ekman-Larsson didn't get a chance to play with the top unit with the man advantage, but it's hard to argue with the result the team enjoyed in the game. Look for the veteran Alfredsson to maintain his role for the time being with Ekman-Larsson waiting with bated breath for an opportunity.
