With Anderson (hand) not feeling comfortable enough to play yet, per the Sens' official site, Andrew Hammond will start Wednesday's game against the Jets. Anderson had been slated to start the contest, but evidently he's not quite ready to return after all, and thus slots in the day-to-day category in advance of Friday's game against the Sabres.

Anderson (hand) will not be available for Saturday's game against the Sharks, Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun reports. Anderson seemed to be trending toward a return by facing a number of shots during practices the last few days, but there's still no clear timetable for when he might be able to play. While the lack of clarity regarding Anderson's return date is undoubtedly an annoyance for fantasy owners, the Senators have done just fine without him. In the absence of Anderson and No. 2 goalie Robin Lehner (concussion), the Senators have stumbled into a hot goalie in Andrew Hammond, who has won four straight starts while posting a 0.75 GAA.

Anderson (hand) was able to make it through practice Tuesday, though it doesn't appear that he's close to returning, the Ottawa Citizen reports. Andrew Hammond has already been confirmed as the starter for Wednesday against the Ducks. "He finished another practice, so that's real good," coach Dave Cameron said. "That's two in a row. He's seeing lots of shots. To me, that's all good. But nobody has told me he's going to back up."

Anderson, who indicated that he is dealing with a "deep" bone bruise" on his hand, is slated to travel with the Sens on the team's five-game road trip, which opens up Wednesday against the Ducks, Ian Mendes of TSN 1200 reports. Per the report, Anderson is not a lock to play on the team's upcoming road trip, but his participation in practice on Monday does represent progress toward a return to game action.

General manager Bryan Murray reiterated Friday that he isn't certain when Anderson (hand) might be ready to return from injured reserve, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.Anderson has already missed about a month due to a deep contusion on his hand, far longer than the team initially anticipated. While a bruise isn't an overly serious injury, it's provided complications for Anderson in maneuvering a stick with his blocker hand. He's been able to practice off and on for the last couple of weeks, but until he notices more healing with the injured hand, the Senators don't want to risk using him in games. With Anderson and Robin Lehner (concussion) both out indefinitely, Andrew Hammond has since assumed the No. 1 goalie gig for the Senators.

Senators coach Dave Cameron said Monday that, so far as he knows, Anderson (hand) is not close to making a return, the Ottawa Sun's Bruce Garrioch reports. There have been hints at some kind of setback with Anderson's hand, but the Senators haven't provided anything definitive on that front. With Robin Lehner (undisclosed) now bothered by an injury of his own, Andrew Hammond may get the start Wednesday against Montreal.

Anderson (hand) will not be activated from injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's game against the Sabres, TSN's Steve Lloyd reports.Over the past weekend, coach Dave Cameron left the door open for Anderson possibly returning to action Tuesday as the back up to Robin Lehner, but those plans were quashed when the injured goalie failed to practice Monday. It doesn't sound like Anderson is dealing with any significant setback in his recovery, but he'll likely need to get in another practice or two before the team feels comfortable activating him.

Senators coach Dave Cameron said Saturday that he "wouldn't rule out" Anderson (hand) backing up Robin Lehner in Buffalo on Tuesday, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports. Anderson faced shots during Friday's practice but was ultimately deemed unavailable to serve in a backup capacity Saturday against the Blue Jackets. It sounds like Anderson could return to the ice Tuesday, though Cameron's comments effectively lock Lehner in for his sixth straight start.

Anderson (hand) will not return to action Saturday against the Blue Jackets, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Coach Dave Cameron had already confirmed Robin Lehner as the Saturday starter following Friday's practice, but there was an outside chance for Anderson to be available in a backup capacity. However, after he was absent from Saturday's morning skate, it looks like his activation from injured reserve will have to wait another couple days. His next chance to return will come Tuesday against the Sabres.
