Craig Anderson appears to be very close to returning to Ottawa's lineup from his sprained ankle. The Senators traded Ben Bishop on Wednesday, which leaves Robin Lehner as the only goaltender on their active roster. Anderson may start as soon as Friday in Buffalo and if he can't go then he may serve as Lehner's backup.

Craig Anderson (ankle) won't play on Saturday or Tuesday. Anderson has already missed more than a month due to the injury, but at least he's close to returning. He has a 1.49 GAA and .952 save percentage in 15 starts this season.

Craig Anderson (ankle) is not expected to return to the lineup Saturday night. Anderson went through an entire on-ice workout Wednesday and participated in Thursday's morning skate, but coach Paul MacLean isn't prepared to rush the goalie. "We want to make sure he's 100 per cent and as ready as he can be before we put him in the net for a game," MacLean said Thursday. Anderson is expected to travel with the Sens on their upcoming seven-game road trip.

Craig Anderson (ankle) stayed out for the entire workout for the first time on Wednesday. The Ottawa goaltender said he is still trying to get his timing and rhythm back, while making sure that his bruised ankle feels comfortable. Anderson is expected to travel with the team on their seven-game road trip next week.

Craig Anderson (ankle) was back at practice Monday morning. "It's good to have him out there, but it was his first day," coach Paul MacLean said. "We'll take it as a positive and go from there. We want him back as soon as we get him. He's going to have to practice a little bit before he gets into a game." He had not taken part in a full workout since suffering a sprained ankle on Feb. 21 and the Senators aren't in any rush to get back in the crease because of how well Robin Lehner and Ben Bishop have played during his absence.

Craig Anderson hasn't resumed skating since he experienced some soreness in his injured ankle during a rehab session last week. Coach Paul MacLean said the team will "err on the cautious side" with their starting netminder. In the meantime, Ben Bishop and Robin Lehner will continue to share starts. Although a starter for Monday's game against Boston hasn't been decided yet.

The Ottawa Senators revealed that Craig Anderson's condition seems to be improving, although he didn't skate on Sunday. Considering how well Ben Bishop and Robin Lehner have played in Anderson's absence, Ottawa probably isn't clamoring for Anderson's return as much as people expected when he went down with an injury. It's unclear how soon he might come back.

Craig Anderson (ankle) did not participate in Tuesday's practice and won't join the Senators on a two-game road trip. Anderson is making slow progress in his recovery and the Sens are anxious to make sure he's 100 percent before he returns to game action. The original timeline for Anderson's sprained ankle was two to four weeks and Thursday will mark two weeks since the injury. At this point, we expect Anderson to return closer to the second half of that timetable. Ben Bishop and Robin Lehner will continue to share the goaltending duties while Anderson is sidelined.

Craig Anderson (ankle) will skate again Saturday morning as he attempts to come back from an ankle injury. He is making progress in his recovery and is trying to keep in shape. "Just a matter of trying to stay in shape as best I can, make sure that when my ankle does feel 100%, physically I'm ready to go," Anderson said. Keep it tuned to Rotoworld for further updates on the Sens' starting goalie.
