Tierney had two helpers in Saturday's win over the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
They were the first points in nine games for Tierney, who had been struggling to produce offense. The 22-year-old skates on the third line and has chipped in with six goals, but he's been too inconsistent to be trusted in most formats. He's still on track for a career year, however, and is capable of having a big night, so you can do worse if you're searching for a depth guy.

Tierney has just two points -- both goals -- in his last 16 games.
EDGE Analysis
The pair of tallies actually came in the same contest back on Feb. 2 against the Canucks, but other than that, Tierney has been ice-cold for the last month. With 15 points across 60 games, he's yet to recapture the form he displayed as a rookie back in 2014-15, when he broke into the league with an impressive 21 points in 43 outings despite averaging a modest 12:15 of ice time. The 2012 second-rounder has skated to a mark of 14:41 this year, making his decreased scoring rate that much more disappointing.

Tierney had an even strength goal and a power-play goal among his five shots Thursday in Vancouver.
EDGE Analysis
Tierney's first career multi-goal effort broke a seven-game point drought. The 22-year-old's five shots on goal tied a season-high, while his power-play tally was his first point with the extra man this season. This was Tierney's best game so far, but maintaining momentum won't be easy for the third-line center given his lack of production coming in.

Tierney scored a goal and added an assist during Monday's win over Winnipeg.
EDGE Analysis
With just four goals, 13 points, 41 shots through 44 games, Tierney doesn't move the needle in many fantasy settings. He also doesn't contribute in the peripheral categories (zero penalty minutes, minus-5 rating, 22 hits and 26 blocked shots). Until he shows more consistent offensive production, you can leave Tierney to the waiver wire and fade him in daily contests.

Tierney has a modest 11 points through 43 games this year, but is approaching new career highs in hits and blocked shots.
EDGE Analysis
Tierney's 22 hits are two off his career high, while his 26 blocked shots trail his best mark by 13 -- both of which were set in 79 games last season. Numbers like that aren't likely to impact many fantasy leagues, but are nonetheless an indication of the development of his game on the defensive side of the puck. The 22-year-old has averaged 14:20 of ice time this year, as well, which is a marked increase from 2015-16's 13:12.

Tierney scored the game-tying goal during the third period of Wednesday's shootout win over Ottawa,
EDGE Analysis
Quietly, Tierney has put together a respectable offensive run with three goals and nine points over his past 20 games. He's been rewarded with power-play time on the No. 2 unit, too. However, Tierney shouldn't be viewed as a reliable fantasy asset, and the 22-year-old pivot is best left to the waiver wire and out of your lineup in most fantasy settings.

Tierney scored his first goal of the year -- the game-winner -- in Monday's 4-0 win over the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
Tierney found twine while on the penalty kill just 1:59 into the game, sending the SAP Center into a frenzy in the Sharks' first home game in 17 days. The marker gives him five points, including three in his last six games, on the season, which is just about in line with his 20-point output from 2015-16.

Tierney dished out an even-strength assist in Saturday's 3-2 road win over the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old largely disappointed in 2015-16, as his 20 points (and minus-16 rating) in 79 games were well off the pace of his 21-point campaign in just 43 games from the year prior. Nonetheless, Tierney is part of a deep Sharks offense that boasts a multitude of weapons. Also, he's averaged over 16 minutes of ice time in the first two games of the season, so he could conceivably provide a little punch of production in daily formats and deeper leagues if he can land a decent line assignment. Tierney is currently centering the third line between veterans Patrick Marleau and Joel Ward, two guys that know how to put the puck in the net.

Tierney deposited an empty-net goal Monday as the Sharks prevailed over the Blues, 6-3, in Game 5.
EDGE Analysis
It was a nifty wraparound tally for the third-liner, who's now scored in back-to-back games. Tierney is lauded for his rigid work ethic and hockey smarts. He's seen his ice time climb over a full minute in the playoffs, but that bottom-six role still has him below 15 minutes per contest. A complementary player of sorts, Tierney has produced five points (four goals, one assist) to go along with a plus-5 rating this postseason. He's a low-end fantasy option.

Tierney bagged a pair of goals in Monday's Game 6 loss to the Predators.
EDGE Analysis
The goals put the Sharks up 2-0 in the first period, but Nashville was able to fight back and force a Game 7. Tierney has now collected three points over the last two games, but the 21-year-old winger doesn't make for a reliable enough fantasy option to garner much attention in playoff lineups.
