The points were his first of the season, but the 21-year-old Tierney has intriguing upside after last year's solid debut with the Sharks. He's stuck in third-line ice time, but Tierney's trio with Tomas Hertl and Tommy Wingels certainly has plenty of talent and thus some fantasy appeal in deeper formats.

Tierney was assigned to AHL Worcester on Sunday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports. Tierney, who notched 21 points in 43 games for the Sharks this past season, should provide Worcester with a nice boost up front for the team's AHL playoff push. During the time he previously spent with Worcester this season, Tierney recorded 24 points in 27 games.

Tierney extended his point streak to three games Saturday, netting his sixth goal of the season and adding an assist in a loss to the Coyotes. The 20-year-old has been producing steadily of late, racking up four goals and eight points in his last seven games. With the season winding down, the current third-line center has definitely played well enough to earn a bigger role with the club next season. With 19 points and a plus-5 rating in just 40 games, the rising youngster is definitely one to keep watch on.

Tierney had a goal and a plus-1 rating in Wednesday's win over the Avalanche. While Tierney has just five goals through 38 games in his rookie campaign, he's posted three goals and three assists in his last seven games. He's showing promise that he could deliver on next season.

Tierney scored his fourth goal of the year and tacked on an assist in Thursday's 6-4 win over Detroit. Despite up-and-down ice time -- just 11:48 on Thursday -- Tierney's been a consistent scoresheet presence of late, with seven points in his last 10 games. Though his fantasy value remains limited to deeper formats, the 20-year-old is certainly showing intriguing potential.

Tierney chipped in his third goal of the season in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Senators. Tierney has had a surprisingly productive month of March, tallying five points (two goals) in his last nine contests. The 20-year-old rarely puts the puck on net though, and has just 12 points on the year so he doesn't have too much value in most single-season fantasy formats.

Tierney set up a pair of power-play goals -- albeit one into an empty net -- Thursday in a 2-0 win over the Predators. A sparking outing for Tierney, who skated a season-high 16:04. That's a promising sign for the 20-year-old rookie, who's provided four points over the last four games. However, he hasn't put a single shot on goal in six of his last seven contests.

Tierney had an assist on the lone Sharks goal in Monday's shootout win over the Penguins. Since his most recent call-up from the AHL, Tierney has a goal and an assist in four games. He hasn't done much to prove his fantasy relevance though, going without a shot in three of those games and playing 10:06 or less in three games. He isn't likely to become a hot commodity in fantasy this season.

Tierney was recalled from AHL Worcester on Monday. Tierney's stay with the Sharks lasted just under a month the last time he was recalled, and his current stint could last an extended period of time as well given the Sharks' current forward situation. He will likely center one of the two bottom lines upon joining the team.
