Kreider scored the go-ahead goal in the third period on one of his seven shots and added a power-play assist in Thursday's Opening Night victory against the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers' crosstown rivals stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game in the third, but Kreider's goal and assist (on Brandon Pirri's eventual game-winner) turned the tide. Kreider has been something of a disappointment for fantasy owners early in his career, but there's reason for excitement about his line with new center Mika Zibanejad and impressive rookie Pavel Buchnevich, and he certainly looked highly active on the ice in this one. The key moving forward will be establishing the game-to-game consistency that Kreider's sometimes been missing in the past.

Kreider signed a four-year, $18.5 million contract extension with the Rangers on Friday, CBC's Tim Wharnsby reports, adding that the deal includes a $1 million signing bonus in the first three years.
EDGE Analysis
By agreeing to this new contract, Kreider and the Blueshirts narrowly avoided a salary arbitration hearing. It's hard to miss Kreider when he's out there on the ice; at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, defenders have fits trying to move him off the puck and it's resulted in plenty of offense early in his career -- Kreider has generated 129 points (61 goals, 68 assists) over four years and 248 career games in the NHL. Once the elite wingers are off the board in fantasy drafts, give Kreider a look.

Kreider elected for salary arbitration Tuesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per the NHLPA, Kreider is one of 24 players to have filed for arbitration before the July 5 deadline. The window for arbitration hearings runs from July 20 through August 4, but the two sides could reach a deal before then. Given that the 25 year-old is a fixture on the power play and has recorded 89 points over the last two seasons alone, it's critical for the Blueshirts to retain the restricted free agent.

Kreider received a qualifying offer from the Rangers on Monday, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kreider matched a career-high with 21 goals in his fourth season with the Rangers, while also adding 22 assists over 79 games. Despite the career-high in goals, Kreider was expected to take a bigger step forward with his game overall, which didn't appear to be the case, so it was a bit of disappointing season for the winger. The Rangers still opted to extend him a qualifying offer, meaning they want him to remain within the organization and can match any offer he receives on the free agent market.

Kreider scored the game-winning goal on a third-period breakaway Tuesday against the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
After Derek Stepan brought the Rangers back from a 2-0 deficit to a 2-2 tie with a pair of goals, Kreider followed with a pretty deke on his breakaway against Tampa goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy to make the difference in the game. Although this has been a disappointing campaign on the whole for Kreider, who's likely to fall short of last year's 46 points (he has 42 now), he's been on a heater down the stretch -- eight points in the last six games now, with six PIM and a plus-5 to boot. The Boston College product has had a tendency to turn invisible on the ice at times, so it's nice to see him being noticeable out there on a nightly basis heading into the postseason.

Kreider scored a goal and dished out an assist in a 4-2 win over the Blue Jackets on Monday. He also skated to a plus-2.
EDGE Analysis
What's most impressive is that his production came in just 11:46 of ice time in this one. Kreider has been on a little tear of late, piling up seven points in the last five games. He's heating up at just the right time, as the Rangers will need all hands on deck if they hope to make it out of the Eastern Conference when the playoffs commence in just over a week.

Kreider picked up a helper for No. 20 on the year and added two hits in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
Kreider is finishing up a solid campaign, notching three goals -- two on the power play -- and two assists in his last four outings. The 24-year-old has now reached 20 apples for the third consecutive season and remains a key cog on the first line for the Rangers.

Kreider put home a power play and an even-strength goal on four shots and added an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens.
EDGE Analysis
Kreider had been on quite the cold streak lately with no points in his last five games. The winger made it 3-1 on the power play after taking a pass from Derick Brassard and putting it home. The 24-year-old added his second of the game two minutes later. He also spent four minutes in the sin bin.

Kreider tallied his 16th goal in Sunday's loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Kreider was the recipient of a Derek Stepan pass right in front of the net, which he was able to chip in late in the first period. The speedy winger, who also took a fighting major in the contest, is starting to pick up his scoring pace, lighting the lamp five times in the last nine games.

Kreider scored a goal in Thursday's 4-2 win over Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Despite logging nearly three minutes less (16:49) than his customary ice time, the 24-year-old collects his first point in four games and snaps a five-game goalless drought. Although he reaches a milestone with the 50th goal of his career, Kreider has the potential for more, but has not found consistency through three-plus seasons in the NHL. The Massachusetts native has 24 points through 48 games this season.
