Kreider scored the go-ahead goal in the third period on one of his seven shots and added a power-play assist in Thursday's Opening Night victory against the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers' crosstown rivals stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game in the third, but Kreider's goal and assist (on Brandon Pirri's eventual game-winner) turned the tide. Kreider has been something of a disappointment for fantasy owners early in his career, but there's reason for excitement about his line with new center Mika Zibanejad and impressive rookie Pavel Buchnevich, and he certainly looked highly active on the ice in this one. The key moving forward will be establishing the game-to-game consistency that Kreider's sometimes been missing in the past.
