Shaw (lower body) will be held out 4-to-6 weeks, Eric Engels of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
After already being absent since Jan. 15, Shaw will now be out until the end of February at the earliest. Although the 26-year-old has only posted 19 points (10 goals, nine assists) he's notched five power-play goals -- tied for second most on the team -- and Byron Froese should continue to skate in his absence.

Shaw (lower body) will remain sidelined through the NHL All-Star break.
EDGE Analysis
This news rules Shaw out for the Habs' next two outings and will bring his missed game total up to six, although it could still be longer. The natural center tallied a single point in his previous seven outings prior to getting hurt. If he can get healthy soon, and shake off his recent slump, the 26-year-old still should be able to top his 2016-17 numbers (10 goals and 17 helpers).

Shaw suffered a lower-body injury against the Bruins on Saturday and has been placed on injured reserve, per the NHL media site.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days, which effectively rules him out for at least the next four games -- although he could be out longer. With the center sidelined, the club claimed Logan Shaw off waivers in order to fill the middle of the lineup.

Shaw scored a power-play goal and won 9-of-12 faceoffs over 15:05 of ice time in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw is currently skating on fourth line, but he remains a fixture on the power play and received a robust 5:13 of man-advantage ice time. The power-play goal was his team-high fifth of the season. With the Habs producing such little offense -- four goals during the team's current five-game losing streak -- Shaw should be skating with more skilled forwards during even-strength situations. He's also been the best faceoff-man on the team (55.9%), further supporting the notion that he should not be mired on the fourth line.

Shaw was given 12:51 of ice time in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has been a mainstay in the top-six, but was moved to fourth-line center Saturday, when he skated most of his shifts with Daniel Carr and Byron Froese. The 26-year-old forward has averaged a career-high 16:21 TOI this season, however no reason was presented as to why Saturday's playing time was the second fewest among the forwards. We presume it's head coach Claude Julien trying different combinations to break the team's scoring funk -- Montreal's scored two goals in the last three games -- but the coach's distribution of playing time can be head scratching. Brendan Gallagher, Montreal's leading scorer, played just 12:54, less TOI than all but Shaw and Carr.

Shaw scored the Canadiens' only goal on the power play Saturday in a 4-1 loss to the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has 18 points in 36 games, but he's been hot lately -- he has put up seven points, including four goals, in his last 10 games. Shaw is on pace for his first 40-point, 100-PIM season and there's real value in that in formats that still count sin-bin points.

Shaw scored a goal on four shots, adding two hits over a forward-high 18:01 in Thursday's 2-1 overtime in over New Jersey.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw parked himself in front of the net and redirected a Jordie Benn blast past Devils goalie Corey Schneider, giving him four goals and three assists over the last eight games. Much of the agitating forward's value in previous seasons has been tied to PIM and hits, but Shaw's been less of an agitator in 2017-18 relative to last season, his first with the Habs. He's averaging fewer PIM and hits per game this season, while his scoring pace has ticked up.

Shaw collected two assists during Tuesday's 4-3 loss to St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The feisty winger now has three goals and three assists during a five-game point streak and is up to a respectable 15 points for the campaign. Shaw's fantasy value still relies on his contributions in the PIM and hit columns, and he offers respectable value in deeper settings because of his cross-category profile. However, it's important to remember that Shaw has a single 20-goal showing on his resume and has never hit the 40-point mark.

Shaw scored a goal on two shots and had a forward-high 19:29 of ice time in Saturday's 10-1 win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw ran his point streak to four games and has goals in three of them. The 26-year-old forward has managed to corral the instinct to take bad penalties, which has led to an increase in playing time -- both at even strength and the power play -- and scoring opportunities.

Shaw scored an empty-net goal, registered two shots and threw three body checks during Monday's 3-1 win over Columbus.
EDGE Analysis
This was Shaw's first point in six games, which is frustrating because he had collected four goals and three assists through the prior eight outings. The gritty winger is up to a respectable five goals and 10 points through 25 games for the campaign, but with a minus-10 rating, he's struggling to significantly tilt the fantasy scales in any one category. Considering his underwhelming offensive track record, it's probably best to leave Shaw to the deepest settings or formats weighing PIM and hits heavily.
