Shaw (knee) has not been given the green light to take contract, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw is slated to be available in late October, but appears to be trending in the right direction. There will be plenty of competition in camp for the fourth-line center role between Matthew Peca, Michael Chaput and the newly-acquired Nick Suzuki -- which means Shaw could find himself on the outside looking in even once cleared to play.

Shaw seems to be progressing from the injuries suffered at the end of the season and could be back in the lineup in late October according to Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw tweeted out appreciation for those who helped in his rehabilitation program and seemed optimistic about his return. The 27-year-old center suffered a concussion and a knee injury that required surgery late in the season, and the expectations were for him to miss at least six months from his surgery on April 25. With his rehab stint going well, Shaw will likely be on the ice before six months is up, helping the Canadiens fill out their weak center corps.

Shaw is expected to miss a minimum of six months after having knee surgery in April.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw reportedly had the surgery on April 25, which means a six month absence would lead to a return in late October. If that holds true, the 26-year-old will miss the start of the regular season. Montreal doesn't have the strongest selection of centers to begin with, so not having Shaw will be an issue. At the moment, it seems likely Jacob De La Rose will get more minutes with Shaw out, but a lot can change during the offseason.

Shaw will undergo knee surgery, the team announced Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw missed the closing 12 outings of the year and will go under the knife to begin his offseason program. The center should be ready for the start of training camp, although fantasy owners will want to monitor his status leading up to the 2018-19 campaign. If he can stay healthy next year, the 26-year-old should be capable of getting back to the 30-point mark again -- although he hasn't crossed that threshold since 2015-16.

Shaw (knee) will not suit up in the Habs' final six games of the 2017-18 campaign, Eric Engels of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw made a brief eight-game appearance in the lineup in the first half of March, but has missed a combined 25 games due to injury this year. In his limited outings (51), the center notched 10 goals, 10 assists and 94 shots. Considering he hasn't played more than 68 games in two straight seasons, fantasy owners will certainly want to consider his health heading into the 2018-19 campaign.

Shaw appears to have reinjured his knee, which is why he has missed the Habs' prior two outings, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw will miss his third straight contest due to his knee problem Monday versus Florida and it's unclear when he might be available to return. With the season all but over, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Montreal shut the center down, rather than have him push through what has been a lingering problem. Michael McCarron and Byron Froese figure to split duties on the Habs' fourth line with Shaw sidelined.

Coach Claude Julien relayed Thursday that Shaw is doing better, but will continue to receive a daily evaluation.
EDGE Analysis
While it's a positive sign that Shaw has seen some improvement, Julien's statement rules him out as a possibility for Thursday's contest against the Penguins. He hasn't been officially diagnosed with a concussion, per John Lu of TSN.ca, but he continues to go through concussion protocol. He will likely return to full participation in practice before he retakes the ice, so owners should look for an update indicating he's taken that step before expecting him back.

Shaw (head) was carried to to locker room by trainers during Tuesday's game against the Stars, Eric Engels of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw laid out a hard hit on the Stars' Greg Pateryn, but Shaw was left feeling the trauma. It was a scary sight seeing him get taken to the dressing room in that fashion, especially with his history of concussions. Expect a further update after Tuesday's game.

Shaw (undisclosed) will suit up for Monday's game versus Columbus,Jean-Francois Chaumont of Le Journal de Montreal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite missing practice Monday and being a game-time decision, Shaw will still suit up and play on a line with Nikita Scherbak and Artturti Lehkonen. Since returning from his undisclosed injury Feb. 28 the 26-year-old has logged one assist in six games, but has been a steady presence on the power-play, averaging 2:09 of ice time per game.

Shaw (undisclosed) is a game-time decision Monday against the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
While we don't know what Shaw's issue is, recently he missed 19 games with a lower-body injury. He's played in six contests since returning, but that recent issue is still reason for extra concern. It sounds like we won't know for sure about Shaw until close to game time, so be prepared to look elsewhere for your fantasy needs.
