Andrew Shaw is on a four-game goal scoring streak.
Shaw now has five goals and nine points in 14 AHL games this season. He'll be worth owning in standard fantasy leagues this season should the lockout end and Chicago give him a chance on one of their top two lines. Shaw is capable of putting up decent offensive numbers and should spend more than a minute per game in the sin bin.

Andrew Shaw scored a goal and registered an assist in the Rockford IceHogs' 4-3 shootout win against the Lake Erie Monsters.
Shaw has three goals and seven points in 12 AHL games this season. He's got a good amount of offensive upside and he averages over a penalty minuter per game. When the lockout ends, Shaw should have some fantasy value with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Andrew Shaw has been assessed a six-game suspension by the AHL for leaving the players' bench for the purpose of starting an altercation.
The incident occurred at the end of the second period on Nov. 3 against Lake Erie. Shaw came to the defense of Dylan Olsen, who received a two-game ban for an illegal check to the head in the same match. Shaw had 23 points in 37 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season, but he is also known for playing a physical style which was evidenced by his 50 penalty minutes and 82 hits.

Andrew Shaw can see the silver lining in being sent to the minors due to the lockout.
"It is odd. But it is what it is," Shaw said. "It just gives me an opportunity to get my game started down here and work on all aspects. The guys down here are great." Shaw had 23 points and 50 penalty minutes in 37 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season. His combination of offensive abilities and grit should make him a desirable pickup in fantasy leagues.

A number of young Blackhawks are hoping to prove they're ready for full-time roles next season.
Chicago hasn't been very active on the free-agent front this offseason, meaning players like Andrew Shaw, Dylan Olsen, Jimmy Hayes and Ben Smith will be have opportunities. All four have had busy summers: Shaw has already added 12 pounds of muscle, Olsen has worked on his footwork and shot, Hayes has gotten into better shape and Smith has resumed skating after season-ending surgeries for a hernia and torn cartilage in his hip.

Andrew Shaw doesn't plan to dramatically change the way he plays over his recently served three-game suspension.
"Obviously I'm going to play the same way, maybe stay out of it after the whistles. I have to play between the whistles," Shaw said. "But still have that gritty play." That's not really a surprise. Shaw's appeal is that he plays a very physical game while still being able to serve as a solid secondary scorer. Shaw is a name you'll want to remember for 2012-13 fantasy drafts.

It is very likely that Andrew Shaw will be back in Chicago's lineup now that he's served his suspension.
Shaw was being punished for hitting the Coyotes netminder Mike Smith behind the net in Game 2. Shaw will provide the Blackhawks with a physical presence, but he's also a capable secondary scorer. He has gotten playing time on a top-two line in the past.

Andrew Shaw has finished serving his three game suspension and will be eligible to return to the Chicago lineup on Monday.
Shaw was suspended for hitting the Coyotes netminder Mike Smith behind the net in Game 2 of the series with a helmet on helmet shot. Look for Shaw, who was a pleasant surprise for the Blackhawks as the rookie fifth round pick had 12 goals and 23 points in 37 games, to draw back into the Chicago lineup.

Andrew Shaw will serve the final game of his suspension on Saturday.
The question now is if they'll be a series for him to return to. Chicago is down 3-1 in their series against Phoenix, so if they lose on Saturday then their season is over. If Chicago wins, then Shaw will be eligible to rejoin the lineup for Game 6 on Monday.
