Andrew Shaw is auctioning off the stitches he received from a puck he took to the face during Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Boston Bruins. That's an odd piece of memorabilia. According to a Facebook page, 100 percent of the proceeds would go to The Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research. The auction will kick off on Aug. 15 and run 10 days on ebay.com. The highest bid will receive the framed stitches and an autographed photo of Shaw.

Andrew Shaw left Game 6 after being hit in the face by a puck. Shawn Thornton was attempting to dump the puck into the offensive zone when it hit Shaw's stick and deflected up into and cut the Hawks winger's face. Shaw collapsed to the ice immediately and appeared to briefly lose consciousness. Shaw eventually left the ice with help and went directly to Chicago's locker room.

Andrew Shaw took over at center for the injured Jonathan Toews in the third period Saturday. Toews suffered an upper body injury and while he stayed on the bench in the third period, he didn't see any ice time. The status of Toews is up in the air for Game 6 so Shaw could see first line time between Patrick Kane and Bryan Bickell if Toews is unable to go. Stay tuned.

Andrew Shaw attributed his game-winning, triple-overtime goal to "luck." "The puck goes to the point, Rozsival gets a nice shot through (and) Bolland got his stick on it," Shaw explained. "I just happened to be going to the net wide (and) it kind of went off my leg into the net. An exciting moment. I think guys are just glad the game ended." Still, Chicago got that goal because Shaw put himself in the right place: in front of goaltender Tuukka Rask. So while he scored without actually taking a shot, the goal happened because he was making a smart decision as far as positioning goes.

Andrew Shaw deflected in the game-winning goal in the third overtime of Game 1 for the Blackhawks in their 4-3 win over the Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final We really couldn't have asked for a better start to the Stanley Cup Final, with two stellar teams playing their best. Shaw's deflection was actually the second on Michal Rozsival's shot, as Dave Bolland also got a piece of it before it ticked off Shaw and beat Tuukka Rask. At that point in the game, it's the type of dirty goal you knew would be the difference, with the pace of the game slowing dramatically and the crispness worsening as well. Brandon Saad scored the Hawks' first goal in the second period. Boston went ahead 3-1 early in the third, but Dave Bolland and Johnny Oduya potted markers to even it in regulation. Marcus Kruger, Michael Frolik and Marian Hossa recorded the other helpers. It was the fifth-longest game in Stanley Cup Final history.

Andrew Shaw is looking forward to squaring off against fellow agitator Brad Marchand in the Stanley Cup Finals. "We're both agitators. We both play physical and we're always chirping," Shaw said. "He's perfected it and that's what I'm trying to do to my game. We both walk a fine line and I've always looked up to him and admired him. It's going to be great to actually play against him once." Shaw has recorded four goals, seven points, 26 penalty minutes and 47 hits in the playoffs, while Marchand has four goals, 13 points, 16 penalty minutes and 14 hits. They probably won't be exchanging pleasantries once the games start.

The leftovers from the Chicago Blackhawks' last Stanley Cup team are tutoring the newer players on what to expect on and off the ice in the final round. Andrew Shaw and Brandon Saad both said they've talked to veterans about how to stay focused. "There are a lot of sideshows to everything, whether it's family wanting to come in or media. You do what you have to do, but you have to stay focused," Shaw said. "They've all told stories about how great it is to win the Cup, and it just makes you want to strive more and win it even more."

Left winger Andrew Shaw, who scored two goals in the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings Saturday night, says some advice from veteran teammate Michal Handzus has helped him psychologically in the playoffs. Handzus sat down with me, had a good chat with me," Shaw said. "He said, 'You've got to control your emotions and use them in the right way.' I just have to be calm and play physical, go to the net and good things will come from it."
