Andrew Shaw has accepted the NHL's decision to suspend him for three games for hitting goaltender Mike Smith. At this point, Shaw is just hoping that he'll get another chance to play in the 2012 postseason. Shaw has already served one game of his suspension, but Chicago is down in their series 2-1, so if there's a chance they'll be eliminated before Shaw is able to return. "I want another chance," Shaw said. "It would be great to see the boys win. I know we can win Game 4 and take that excitement into Game 5."

Andrew Shaw receives a three-game suspension for his hit on Phoenix goalie Mike Smith during Saturday's Game 2. Hit a goalie and pay the price. Especially if you are a rookie. That seems to be the message when considering what else is taking place (or not) as far as supplemental discipline these playoffs. At the time of the misdeed, Shaw earned a five-minute major and a game misconduct.

Possible punishpent for Andrew Shaw's goalie interference on Mike Smith will likely come down Tuesday. Shaw collided helment-on-helmet with Smith, knocking him down, when he went to play the puck behind the net in the second period of Game 3. Smith lay down on the ice for several moments before getting himself together, and Shaw was assessed a five-minute charging major and misconduct. "I'm upset I made contact," Shaw said. "I tried getting out of the way. At the last second his head came out and I turned my shoulder away but had nowhere to go."

The Chicago Blackhawks will likely find out if Andrew Shaw will face a suspension for hitting Phoenix Coyotes goalie Mike Smith on Monday. Shaw received a game misconduct and five-minute major for knocking Smith over, which might reduce his chances of a suspension. It doesn't hurt that Smith didn't miss a shift, either - even if he took a while to get up. Then again, Shaw is far from a star, so we'll have to wait and see.

Andrew Shaw could be facing a suspension from the NHL for his hit on Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith. Shaw picked up a five minute charging major and a game misconduct after his collision with the Coyotes netminder. Smith was down for a few minutes but eventually got up and returned to action. "He went to play the puck and his stick came up toward my face so I tried to get out of the way of it. Unfortunately I made contact. I didn't try to hit him but unfortunately I did," Shaw said. "I'm just glad he's OK and he could finish the game." The NHL should rule on Monday as to the fate of Smith since the series does not resume until Tuesday for Game 3 in Chicago. Stay tuned.

Andrew Shaw will probably make his postseason debut on Thursday. "They say everyone steps up and it's a lot more energy-filled game," Shaw said. "I'm kind of just excited to get started." Assuming the added pressure doesn't get to him, Shaw should be a valuable secondary scorer and physical presence in Chicago's first round series.

Andrew Shaw scored the overtime winning goal in the Blackhawks 2-1 win over Vancouver Wednesday night. With seven points in his last four games, Shaw is in the midst of a very hot stretch. Given that he's far from a household name, he could be a significant bargain in fantasy leagues next year. Patrick Kane also registered his 20th goal of the season in the victory.

Andrew Shaw netted his 10th goal and registered his seventh assist of the 2011-12 campaign on Tuesday. Shaw now has three goals and six points in his last three contests. He's definitely someone to keep an eye on during training camp next season. He should a lot of time in the sin bin in 2012-13, so he'll have some fantasy value even if he primarily serves on the third line.

The Chicago Blackhawks have called up Andrew Shaw. Shaw has nine points and 18 penalty minutes in 19 games this season. If he gets regular minutes on one of Chicago's top two lines, then he'll have some fantasy value. Either way, his name is one that's worth remembering for next season.
