Steen will be in the lineup for Wednesday night's matchup with Washington, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It would appear as though Steen has made a full recovery from offseason shoulder surgery and, barring a setback, he will be good to go when the Blues open the season next week in Chicago. Steen struggled with injuries at times last season, but can remain an effective playmaker if he can stay healthy.

Steen shed the non-contact jersey for Monday's practice session, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Steen continues to progress towards being ready to go for Opening Night, but given the expectations on the team, they are not in a hurry to rush him back for meaningless games. With the injury to Jaden Schwartz (elbow) the pressure will be on Steen to help pick up the slack alongside Paul Stastny and Vladimir Tarasenko on the Blues top line. As long as he is healthy, the 32-year-old could log a fourth consecutive 50+ point campaign.

Steen (shoulder) was on the ice in a non-contact jersey Saturday morning, one day after participating in a half practice, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Steen is being eased back into action following shoulder surgery. At 32 years old, he and top-line teammate Vladimir Tarasenko are shaping up to be the primary leaders of a St. Louis team that no longer has versatile veteran talent David Backes at its disposal. Steen secured a four-year $23 million contract renewal as recently as Friday, so now he can focus squarely on being healthy for the season opener against the Blackhawks on Oct. 12.

Steen (shoulder) agreed to terms on a $23 million extension Friday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Steen has recorded three consecutive seasons over 50 points, peaking in 2014-15 with 24 goals and 40 helpers. The winger plays in all three phases of the game, as he logged 20:22 of ice time per game including 3:41 and 2:15 on the power play and penalty kill respectively. As long as he continues to be paired with Vladimir Tarasenko on the Blues top line, Steen should be able to maintain his level of production.

Steen's rehab from shoulder surgery has come along to the point where playing the Blues' season-opener Oct. 12 is a strong possibility, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Steen underwent surgery June 3, then used the World Cup of Hockey tournament as a goal to advance his rehab. While he couldn't get ready to help Sweden in the World Cup, the work he did preparing for the tournament has him in a good position to play when the puck drops Oct. 12 on the road against the Blackhawks.

While he's yet to resume taking contact, Steen (shoulder) has looked good while skating and performing other drills, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Steen hasn't played an 80-plus game season since 2008-09, but it's hard to ignore his impact when healthy. The Manitoba native has averaged 0.82 regular-season points per game over the last two years and he should have the opportunity for increased shot totals with top-six talents David Backes (Boston) and Troy Brouwer (Calgary) finding new teams over the offseason.

Steen (shoulder) continues to progress from a shoulder injury suffered in late February, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The original timetable for return was 4-to-6 months, but at this point, it seems much more likely to be four months, which should have the 32-year-old winger ready for the start of the season. If his recovery slows in the next month, then he would likely only miss the first few games. Health permitting, Steen should continue to put up healthy goal and assist totals as he embarks on his 12th NHL campaign.

Steen is making progress in his recovery from shoulder surgery as performed in early June, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to the report, Steen looks doubtful for the World Cup of Hockey, though he could be healthy enough to play in the season opener against the Blackhawks on Oct. 12. The 32-year-old has one year left on his contract, earning $6.5 million, and he could see an increase in shot attempts with David Backes shipped off to Boston. Steen has averaged just under 60 points over the last three seasons, so consider drafting him with an early pick if he keeps showing signs of improvement with the shoulder.

Steen underwent successful shoulder surgery Friday and he will be reevaluated in 16 weeks.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues released the official timetable of 16 weeks after Steen had his left shoulder operated on Friday at Washington University in St. Louis, which would put him on track to be evaluated in early October. With that time frame, in addition to the fact that he won't necessarily be cleared when he's reevaluated, there's no guarantee that Steen will be ready when the 2016-17 season gets underway. If Steen is still recovering when the season begins in October, Jaden Schwartz could start the year as the Blues' second line left winger.

Steen collected an assist in Game 5's 6-3 loss to the Sharks on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
After a brief four-game absence from the scoresheet, Steen has recorded points in back-to-back games against the Sharks. He also spent a team-high 3:12 on the power play in this one, so it's clear head coach Ken Hitchcock believes in Steen as one of his top offensive generators. On the flip side, he's only managed a single shot on goal for six straight games after racking up 30 in the the previous 10, so perhaps Steen is playing through some type of issue that's impacting his game. Nonetheless, the 32-year-old has 10 points -- and a whopping 30 PIM -- in 19 playoff contests thus far.
