Steen is making progress in his recovery from a hand injury, the St.Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's being reported that Steen could accompany the Notes for practice at some point during their upcoming four-game road trip, which begins with Monday's game against the Islanders and wraps up in Tampa Bay on Saturday versus the Bolts. However, Blues coach Mike Yeo doesn't believe Steen or Jay Bouwmeester (ankle) will be ready for live action on this road stretch. "So they're both progressing but I wouldn't expect either of them to be playing in any of these games on the road trip," said the bench boss. Assuming that holds true, fantasy owners shouldn't expect the skaters to return until Oct. 18 at the earliest.

Steen suffered a hand injury in Monday's preseason outing and will miss at least three weeks.
EDGE Analysis
The team announced that Steen would be re-evaluated in three weeks, which not only rules him out for training camp, but would keep him out for at least the first four games of the season. The Blues were hard hit by injuries last year, although the 33-year-old was relatively healthy and appeared in 76 outings. Even if he misses a few contest at the start of 2017-18, the winger should be capable of recording a fifth straight 50-plus point campaign.

Steen (foot) has resumed skating in training camp, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
This development eases concerns about Steen playing through a broken foot during the playoffs, particularly with consideration to his avoiding surgery to ultimately overcome the malady. The heady veteran is a safe bet for 50-plus points, but also a handful of missed games each season.

Steen will not require surgery on his broken foot, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A true testament to his heart and dedication, Steen reportedly played through his broken foot during the playoffs, an injury exacerbated by his blocking a shot versus the Predators in Game 4 of the conference semifinals. Considering that the Canadian-born Swede managed to play through the ailment and avoided going under the knife, we can see him being ready for training camp if given ample rest. Of course, Steen is a 12-year veteran, and we wouldn't be concerned even if he's ultimately forced to miss a portion of the preseason.

Steen sustained a broken foot during Game 1 of the Blues' first-round series against the Wild, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rutherford elaborates that Steen's foot broke even further when he blocked a shot during Game 4 against the Predators, leading to his sitting out Game 5. With the Blues' season over following Sunday's loss to Nashville, Steen can turn his attention to getting his foot healed and getting healthy for training camp in the fall. The 33-year-old finished the playoff run with three goals, four assists and 17 shots on goal.

Steen (lower body) will be in the lineup for Game 6, Adam Vingan of the Tennessean reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite not participating in line rushes during pregame, Steen found his way onto the ice after missing Game 5. With seven points in nine playoff games, he's been a key cog in the Preds offense this postseason.

Steen (lower body) took warmups ahead of Game 6, but didn't participate in line rushes, suggesting he will miss the contest, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Steen appears to be closing in on a return, but it will require the Blues extending the series to Game 7 for him to have another opportunity at dressing. The club will roll with the same lineup as they did in Game 5, attempting to force a Game 7 back in St. Louis.

Steen (lower body) joined the team as it traveled to Nashville for Game 6, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Steen missed Game 5 because of the injury, but the Blues still staved off elimination to force a Game 6. His availability should be determined ahead of puck drop, but the fact that the veteran traveled means he has a shot at playing.

Steen will not play Friday's Game 5 due to his lower-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
Steen has been powering through his ailment for the entire playoffs, but apparently the injury has gotten bad enough that he will not be able to suit up for Game 5. Dmitrij Jaskin will slot into the lineup in place of Steen and is slated to skate on the second line Friday.

Steen has been playing through a lower-body injury that has kept him from practicing during the playoffs, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Steen has not had to miss any game action due to his injury and is not likely to unless it takes a turn for the worse, but the team has decided to let him skip practices so as to keep him fresh for the games. Despite the ailment, the 33-year-old has been quite productive through the first two rounds of the playoffs, posting three goals and four assists while averaging 19:25 of ice time, including 3:20 on the power play, through nine games.
