Steen will not require surgery on his broken foot, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A true testament to his heart and dedication, Steen reportedly played through his broken foot during the playoffs, an injury exacerbated by his blocking a shot versus the Predators in Game 4 of the conference semifinals. Considering that the Canadian-born Swede managed to play through the ailment and avoided going under the knife, we can see him being ready for training camp if given ample rest. Of course, Steen is a 12-year veteran, and we wouldn't be concerned even if he's ultimately forced to miss a portion of the preseason.
