It looks as if Aex Galchenyuk will not be ready to play at the start of the second round of the playoffs.
There was some hope that the talented rookie would only miss the first round of the post-season with a knee injury that has kept him out of the lineup since April 9th. However, Galchenyuk hasn't done much of anything hockey-related since the injury, let alone skating, and does not seem remotely close to returning to action.

Don't be surprised if you see Alex Galchenyuk line up as a center against Toronto Saturday night.
The talented rookie has predominantly played as winger this season but practised between Brian Gionta and Rene Bourque Friday. Lars Eller was demoted to the Habs' fourth unit during Friday's scrimmages. We don't believe the position switch will impact much on Galchenyuk's fantasy value, though.

Alex Galchenyuk collected an assist in Montreal's 2-0 victory over Buffalo on Sunday.
Galchenyuk had a solid rookie season, but he's taken a bit of a step back in his sophomore campaign. He has 27 points and a minus-11 rating in 54 games this season. We don't think his finish to this campaign will be anything special, but he should take a step forward in 2014-15.

Alex Galchenyuk netted a power-play goal in a 5-2 loss to Phoenix on Thursday night.
He deflected a shot by P.K. Subban on a two-man advantage during the second period to make it 3-2, but that was as close as the Canadiens would get. It was Galchenyuk's 12th goal of the season and his third point in his past five games.

Alex Galchenyuk felt better as the game went on Wednesday night.
"I got my legs under me in the third period," said Galchenyuk, who returned from a broken hand in a 2-1 overtime loss to Detroit. "The first two periods were OK, but I was trying to get back into the rhythm of the game. You can practice all you want, but it's not the same as playing a game." He was moved to a line with Brian Gionta and Tomas Plekanec in the third frame of the contest and the trio got Montreal's only goal. Galchenyuk finished the match with two shots and a plus-1 rating in 15:15 of ice time. Get him back in your lineup if you normally would.
