His 24 points, including 11 goals, in 43 games just isn't good enough to warrant his draft position. Buyer beware.

The Wisconsin native has registered 22 points, which is exactly half the amount he had through 61 games of an injury-riddled 2016-17 campaign. He's been off his game with a career-low shooting percentage (8.6) certainly not helping matters.

Galchenyuk currently leads the Canadiens with 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) in 40 games, so it'll be a big blow to their chances against Tampa Bay on Thursday if he's unable to go. Another update on the 23-year-old forward's status should be released following Thursday's morning skate.

Being a one-zone player is not typically how a forward endears himself to a coaching staff, but head coach Claude Julien, who has demoted Galchenyuk to the fourth line a couple of times this season, is swallowing it for now. The Habs need offense and Galchenyuk has been a dependable source since late November.

Sadly the goal was the only good news for the American skater, he saw his TOI decline for the fourth game in a row. Until more opportunities arise, Galchenyuk's potential and value are limited outside of daily leagues.

Galchenyuk is starting to heat up. Finally. Eight of his points have come in his last eight games, but he only has 17 in 31 games. Galchenyuk is talented, but the jury is still out on him as a top center. Regardless, he's a must play because of his warm streak.

Galchenyuk was benched during the third peiriod of Montreal's previous game, receiving a team-low 9:08 of ice time in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to Calgary. However, that looks like the end of the forward's punishment for what head coach Claude Julien deemed poor play without the puck and along the boards. Julien said following practice that the lines Friday are likely to be the ones deployed Saturday night against Edmonton.

Head coach Claude Julien wasn't shy about blaming Galchenyuk for the Flames' third-period, game-tying goal. The score followed Galchenyuk losing a puck battle along the boards. "In a tie game ... he wasn't very good tonight along the boards so that's the decision I took," the coach said about benching Galchenyuk. Perhaps it would have been a harder coaching decision had the 23-year-old forward been scoring goals, but he has just six goals this season with two in the last 18.

Galchenyuk went plus-3 with four helpers in Saturday's 10-1 dismantling of the Red Wings at home.

Only one of Galchenyuk's apples took place on the man advantage, but his owners certainly will have no qualms about this performance -- he was flat out brilliant and this was sorely needed given that he'd posted only six goals and six assists against a minus-11 rating in 27 games prior to this rout. He'll look to stay hot in Tuesday's home game against the Blues.
