Galchenyuk (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Craig Morgan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
As a result of this transaction, Galchenyuk will be ruled out for at least the first two games of the regular season. Richard Panik projects to start out on the top line with Derek Stepan and Clayton Keller with Chucky's debut with Coyotes on hold.

Galchenyuk (lower body) is week-to-week with his injury, which is likely to cause him to get a delayed start to the regular season.
EDGE Analysis
The Coyotes can probably live with the week-to-week designation for Galchenyuk (hey, at least it's not months), but it's rather unfortunate for fantasy owners who will want to deploy the prolific forward as soon as possible. Chucky delivered 51 points (19 goals, 32 assists) to complement a career-high 24 power-play points for the Habs last season.

Galchenyuk is dealing with a lower-body injury and will undergo further evaluation by the Yotes' medical staff, Craig Morgan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Galchenyuk racked up 51 points playing in all 82 games for the Habs' last season, before getting traded to the desert for Max Domi. The 24-year-old Galchenyuk figures to headline Arizona's offense this season and should be capable of reaching the 50-point mark for the third time in his career.

Galchenyuk potted two goals -- including a power-play tally -- in Tuesday's 4-2 split-squad home win over the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
The former Hab was brilliant in his Coyotes debut, showing instant chemistry with defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson, who was the primary distributor on both of his goals. Galchenyuk had 19 goals and 32 assists working against a minus-31 rating over a full season with Montreal in 2017-18, though some hockey pundits are skeptical that his move to the desert will help him significantly cut down on the defensive miscues. After all, the Coyotes haven't had a positive goal differential since 2011-12.

Galchenyuk, whom the Coyotes acquired from the Habs in exchange for Max Domi on Friday, said he's excited about the prospect of playing the center position, Craig Morgan of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Numerous reports have suggested that Galchenyuk requested to work down the middle in Montreal late last season, but he didn't get that opportunity. In Arizona, he could slot in as the second-line center taking shifts after Derek Stepan or flanking his fellow American from the right wing on the top line. For what it's worth, Galchenyuk believes he'll play center after reading comments on social media speculating that he'll end up in that spot, so we'd take this news with a grain of salt until coach Rick Tocchet has a chance to corroborate the report.

The Canadiens traded Galchenyuk to the Coyotes in exchange for Max Domi on Friday, Arpon Basu of The Athletic Montreal reports.
EDGE Analysis
This appears to be a straight-up swap involving a pair of former first-round draft picks. Galchenyuk spent his first six seasons in Montreal, accumulating 108 goals and 147 assists over 418 games. There's no reason to expect him to give up his power-play responsibilities now that he's bound for Arizona, and his playmaking acumen should really help invigorate an offense that ranked 28th last season -- which was coincidentally one peg higher than Montreal's scoring rate. Galchenyuk has two years left on a contract that comes with an annual cap hit of $4.9 million.

Galchenyuk compiled 19 goals, 32 assists and a minus-31 rating in 82 games during 2017-18.
EDGE Analysis
This was Galchenyuk's second 50-point campaign in the last three years, but a brutal rating dampers his production. Galchenyuk fired 213 shots on net as well, but with just 19 goals it was his worst shooting percentage (8.9 percent) since entering the league in 2012. However, as long as the 24-year-old maintains a power-play presence, his stat line will be substantial.

Galchenyuk scored a power-play goal and an even-strength assist in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
His 19th goal of the season, scored with just under two minutes left in the third period, capped a big comeback and sent the game to extra time, but the Habs couldn't finish the job. The 24-year-old now has 51 points in 80 games on the season, his second career campaign reaching the 50-point plateau. while his 24 points with the man advantage is a new career high.

Galchenyuk recorded a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Galchenyuk has points in four straight games and 10 over the last 11. His 31 assists this season are a career high, and his play over the second half of the season has quelled talk about him needing a change of scenery, despite an unsightly minus-29. Coach Claude Julien has praised the forward's improvement at his own end of the ice. The Wisconsin native has 21 points (10 on the power play) and is at minus-3 over the last 27 games. Now comes the hard part of finding supporting cast that can get him back to the 30-goal level that he reached in 2015.

Galchenyuk recorded a goal and an assist with the man advantage during Monday's 4-2 win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old forward now sports a three-game point streak and is up to 18 tallies and 30 helpers for the campaign. Additionally, his 30 assists and 22 power-play points are both career-high marks. The recent uptick in production is also especially encouraging considering Galchenyuk was nursing a hand injury last week.
