The New Jersey Devils placed Adam Larsson on the injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 23 on Sunday. The fourth pick of the 2011 NHL Draft hasn't paid immediate dividends for the Devils, at least yet. He has three points and a -4 rating in 20 games played this season.

Adam Larsson won't play Monday because of a lower-body injury. He was hurt when he lost an edge and crashed into the boards during the third period of Saturday's loss to San Jose. Larsson has one goal and two assists in 20 games this season.

Adam Larsson scored his first goal of the season Saturday in a 4-1 win over Pittsburgh. It was the 21-year-old's first goal in close to two years as he went 96 games without finding the back of the net before Saturday. The defenseman has struggled to establish himself in the NHL but he is still so young that the learning curve for a blueliner is very difficult. He will be a very good NHL player but it is taking longer than first anticipated. He has lots of offensive upside so keep an eye on him.

Adam Larsson turned 21 on Tuesday. Larsson has struggled to establish himself at the NHL level since he was taken with the fourth overall pick in 2011, but obviously he's still young. There are better players to hold onto in most keeper leagues, but Larsson is worth keeping an eye on as he does have a fair deal of offensive upside despite recording just 25 points in 116 career NHL contests.

Adam Larsson's play has improved since partnering up with fellow defenseman Eric Gelinas. Larsson was drafted fourth overall in the 2011 Draft and although he has yet to turn 21, his progress has been slow. But with Gelinas as his partner, even Larsson acknowledges that his play is much improved. "I think having 'Gelly' in the lineup mixing with 'Lars', I think it really helped Lars playing out there," said goaltender Martin Brodeur. "He's been really playing well. I'm really comfortable having him in front of me, that's for sure." Larsson is worth picking up in deeper leagues (but reserve him) as he appears ready to take the next step in the NHL and that could come shortly.

Adam Larsson picked up his first point of the season on Thursday. Larsson has played in 12 games and spent some time in the press box this season. He's only 20, so we certainly don't want to suggest that he won't live up to his offensive potential, but we wouldn't hang onto him in anything but the deepest of keeper leagues at this time.

Adam Larsson will get back into the fold after being a healthy scratch for the last two games. He will be back on the blueline against Vancouver Thursday night. Larsson has no points and a minus-5 rating in six games this campaign.

Adam Larsson is projected to spend his second straight game in the press box. Larsson has only played in six games this season. He had a ton of offensive potential when he was drafted in 2011 and he still might turn into a great defenseman. For now though, he's a questionable player to own unless you're in a deep keeper league.

Coach Peter DeBoer did not go into details as to why he sat Adam Larsson as a healthy scratch Saturday. "We're going with the 20 best guys to win a hockey game. It's as simple as that," DeBoer said. "I'm not going to get into it any deeper on our personnel decisions, but that's the bottom line." Larsson has had trouble finding his place in the NHL as he was brought in as an 18-year-old rookie in 2011-12 and has struggled for the most part ever since.

Adam Larsson will be a healthy scratch for the second time this season Saturday night when New Jersey hosts the Rangers. He was a healthy scratch 11 times last year during the lockout-shortened campaign, but he feels puzzled by his latest benching. "I don't feel like I've played bad these three games at all," he said. "But I guess they want more." Mark Fayne will play in his place.
