Adam Larsson has been sent down to the AHL by the Devils.
The 19-year-old had 18 points in 65 games last year and the experience in the minors could be very beneficial for him.

After taking Adam Larsson with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, the New Jersey Devils are in a very different position one-year later.
Barring a trade, New Jersey will have to wait until 28 prospects are taken before it's their turn to draft. Last year, Devils GM Lou Lamoriello could concentrate on the top draft picks. This time around it's far more complicated. "Now, the focus is not on say eight or 10 players or even 12 players," Lamoriello said. "Last year, it was maybe four of five. Then, you're thinking about trading down or whatever. Here it's focused in on a larger pool of players." Of course, 2011 was the exception rather than the rule for the Devils. New Jersey is use to making the playoffs and consequently getting a lesser draft position. The 2010-11 campaign ended their streak of 13 straight playoff appearances. They're hoping that they started another lengthy streak in 2011-12.

Adam Larsson will spend Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals in the press box.
Larsson has only played in five of a possible 17 games in the postseason. He's got a ton of upside, but he's also a teenage rookie who doesn't figure to be a major factor in the Devils' 2012 playoff run.

Adam Larsson was a healthy scratch for Saturday's 3-0 Game Three loss to the Rangers.
It was the second consecutive contest in which Larsson sat in the press box. Things won't get any better for the rookie rearguard if Henrik Tallinder is able to return from injury in the next game or two.

Adam Larsson may serve as a healthy scratch for Game 2 on Wednesday night versus the New York Rangers.
Peter Harrold was paired with Anton Volchenkov during the team's morning session, which appeared to make Larsson the odd man out on the back end. The rookie blueliner has skated in five straight postseason contests after he watched the entire first round from the press box. He has one goal and a plus-3 rating in the playoffs.

Adam Larsson has played in four straight playoff games for the Devils.
Larsson spent the first round in the press box, but he made his postseason debut in Game 2 of the second round. For Larsson, this playoff run has been a great learning experience. His transition to the NHL has been, at times, a rocky one, but he has a ton of offensive upside and he's a great guy to hold onto in keeper leagues.

No surprise here, but Adam Larsson will remain in New Jersey's lineup on Thursday night in Game 3.
He led the team with five hits and scored the game-tying goal in his NHL playoff debut in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Philadelphia. "He jumped in and scored a goal, gave us some good minutes, played well, was physical," coach Pete DeBoer said. "Regardless of the goal, he was involved physically. He was very solid, so it's tough to take a guy out and for young players that's what you want. You want to make it so that the coach has a hard time or can't take you out of the lineup again. That's your job."

Adam Larsson netted an important goal for New Jersey in Tuesday's win over Philadelphia during his playoff debut.
His first marker since Nov. 26 tied the score at 1-1 early into the third period and started a barrage of Devils goals in the final frame en route to a 4-1 victory. The rookie blueliner scored two goals in 65 regular season appearances. Larsson had been a healthy scratch in the team's previous eight postseason contests before finally getting the chance to play and his insertion into the lineup helped his team even the series at 1-1 going back home. Larsson ended up with two penalty minutes, two shots and a plus-2 rating during his 13:15 of ice time.
