Adam Larsson has no intention of playing overseas, according to his agent J.P. Barry. Barry added that he's been talking about a contract for the young defenseman with Devils GM Lou Lamoriello. "We're talking to Lou and just trying to figure out what his role would be for next year and what's best for him developmentally," Barry said. "I don't know where that (the talk of him going to Sweden) came from."

Devils GM Lou Lamoriello doesn't think Adam Larsson will bolt to play in Sweden next season. "I don't have any knowledge of that," Lamoriello said amid rumors on Wednesday suggesting it was possible. He also denied that there was any concern over losing Larsson, who New Jersey took with the fourth overall pick in 2011. He's a restricted free agent next month and hasn't been happy with his playing time. Larsson appeared in just 26 NHL games in 2013-14.

With Marek Zidlicky re-signed, Adam Larsson's task of making the Devils' opening game roster has been made that much more difficult. The Devils now have five defensemen signed to one-way contracts and a sixth that will almost certainly make the team in Jon Merrill.
