Broncos vice president John Elway finally gave Tim Tebow a strong vote of confidence, saying, "Tim Tebow's not going anywhere."
Elway has been hesitant to commit to Tebow as his quarterback of the future, but he said Tuesday that he thinks the scrambler can turn into more of a pocket passer eventually. "I mean, he's going to be a Bronco and we're going to do everything we can and hopefully he's that guy," Elway said. Tebow easily projects as a top-10 quarterback option in 2012 fantasy drafts.

Tim Tebow completed 11-of-22 passes for 194 yards in Denver's 41-23 Week 15 loss to the Patriots, adding 12 rushes for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
After racing out to a 16-7 lead early in the second quarter, Tebow and the Broncos watched New England reel off 27 unanswered points thanks in part to lost fumbles by Tebow and Lance Ball. Tebow was also again hamstrung by extremely conservative play-calling, with Denver waiting until the fourth quarter to spread out in shotgun. Despite the lopsided finale, today was one of Tebow's finest starts. He displayed excellent decision making on his throws, and picked the right times to scramble. He has an excellent matchup for the fantasy finals, where he'll get a Bills defense allowing 370 yards and 26.5 points per game.

Head coach John Fox again declined to commit to Tim Tebow as the Broncos' starting quarterback for 2012 in a Friday interview.
"I think right now, all our focus is, let's get this season done," Fox told ESPN's Jim Rome. "We love him, he's great, we're pulling for him, and you know, we'll make those decisions when this season is over and not worry about next season at this point." Denver's reluctance to commit to Tebow has become genuinely baffling, but at this point it would be stunning if any other quarterback was under center for the Broncos in Week 1 2012.

The Broncos are likely to commit to Tim Tebow as their 2012 starting quarterback if he "continues to show improvement and leads the Broncos to the playoffs," team sources tell ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
The Broncos' original plan was to let Tebow fall flat on his face and then draft a quarterback of the future. By going 7-1 as a starter and putting the Broncos on top of the AFC West, Tebow has changed all that. Barring a collapse to the end of the season, vice president John Elway and head coach John Fox will be forced to roll with Tebow in 2012 and not draft a quarterback.

One high-level league executive tells NFL.com that the Broncos' original plan with Tim Tebow was to play him for "a few weeks" to appease fans, and then initiate a rebuilding movement.
The Broncos reportedly "wanted to move on" and "wanted nothing to do with the (Josh) McDaniels regime," which drafted Tebow in the first round of 2010. NFL.com's Mike Lombardi now believes Tebow has made VP of Football Operations John Elway "a believer." The Broncos are leading the AFC West, and after winning so many games, out of position to draft an elite quarterback in 2012.

Tim Tebow completed 21-of-40 passes for 236 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Week 14, adding 12 rushes for 49 yards as the Broncos stunned the Bears 13-10 in overtime.
This is getting spooky. Thanks in part to four critical drops from his receivers, Tebow didn't complete a pass in the second or third quarters, but caught fire down the stretch, converting 18-of-24 passes for an eye-popping 191 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter and overtime. He was the beneficiary of some stellar defense and two mind-numbing mistakes by Bears RB Marion Barber, but there's no question Tebow was the impetus for Denver's latest surreal comeback. With Oakland getting crushed by the Packers today, Tebow now has the Broncos on the brink of their first division title since 2005.

VP of Football Operations John Elway says he regrets saying in a November interview that the Broncos weren't any closer to finding their franchise quarterback.
In an interview with FOXSports.com, Elway said he has since personally cleared the air with Tim Tebow, and insisted there is "nobody more supportive or wants (Tebow) to be that guy than me." Elway also said he plans to "spend a lot of time" with Tebow and Broncos QBs coach Adam Gase working on Tebow's mechanics this offseason. Barring a catastrophic end to the season, Tebow should open 2012 as Denver's starter.

VP of Football Operations John Elway said Tuesday he's been impressed by the way the Broncos have won "in a lot of different ways" under Tim Tebow.
"There's not many people out there who thought we could win a shootout," Elway said of Sunday's 35-32 win over the Vikings. "It just goes to show you what a weapon (Tebow) is, that if they shut down one aspect whether it be with his legs, that he can beat them with his arm and vice versa," Elway has yet to publicly commit to Tebow as his quarterback of the future, but if he leads the Broncos past Chicago and New England the next two weeks, he may have no choice.

Broncos VP of Football Operations John Elway said after Sunday's win that he's seen "big strides" from Tim Tebow as a passer.
"We saw him read out the two passes, the long passes - the touchdown to Demaryius [Thomas] and the long gain in the fourth quarter," said Elway. "He did a great job against Cover 2." Elway stopped short of calling Tebow the Broncos' franchise quarterback, of course. ESPN's Eric Mangini, after watching the tape, noted that Tebow is excelling at controlling the defense with his eyes. It was particularly evident on the two passes Elway mentioned.

Tim Tebow came out of Week 12 with "little more than a bruised knee" after a modern-era QB record 22 rushing attempts against the Chargers.
Tebow's physical playing style leaves him open to plenty of hits, but John Elway relayed that Tebow insists his body feels better now than it did at the start of the season. As the strongest QB in the league, Tebow may be dishing out as much pain as he's receiving.
