After speaking with Broncos sources, Yahoo's Mike Silver believes the team "won't be trying to drive a hard bargain" in shopping Tim Tebow around the league.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Broncos will try to trade Tim Tebow following the official signing of free agent Peyton Manning. Signing Manning was the Broncos' only foolproof way to crush Tebowmania, and there's an almost zero percent chance he will be allowed to remain on the roster and serve as a distraction behind the biggest free agent signing in NFL history. The Jaguars and Dolphins figure to be Tebow's most frequently rumored landing spots, though it's quite possible he won't be shipped anywhere as a starter. Coach John Fox and VP of Football Operations John Elway will soon be free of a player they could barely hide their contempt for.

A source with "knowledge of the dynamics in Denver" tells Profootballtalk.com Tim Tebow will likely be traded if the Broncos land free agent Peyton Manning.

Denver Post columnist Mark Kiszla believes Tim Tebow would become trade bait "before the ink on the contract is dry" if the Broncos sign Peyton Manning. While the Browns have gotten off to a dawdling start in their quest to upgrade Colt McCoy and the Jets re-upped Mark Sanchez following their failed pursuit of Manning, the Broncos are full steam ahead on replacing the quarterback that helped lead them to a playoff win last season. Even if the Broncos strike out on Manning, Tebow can expect to face formidable competition in the form of a first- or second-round pick or midlevel free agent.

According to Mark Long of the Associated Press, the Jaguars will "not" pursue Tim Tebow as long as Gene Smith is the team's GM. In other words, Smith isn't a Tebow "believer." Following news of Friday's Peyton Manning visit with the Broncos, speculation has been rampant that Denver might deal Tebow to Jacksonville. New Jags owner Shahid Kahn did say recently that he "would have drafted" Tebow in 2010, but that doesn't mean a thing because he doesn't have personnel say. Smith calls all of the shots.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post writes that the Broncos will sign a free agent who can "legitimately challenge" Tim Tebow for the starting job. Klis doesn't believe the Broncos will ultimately have a chance at Peyton Manning. But it's clear the Broncos also don't want to sign a true "backup" type like Shaun Hill or Josh McCown. They want a true "1A" option like Chad Henne or Jason Campbell that can apply pressure to Tebow and possibly start if Tebow struggles. In short: The drama isn't ending anytime soon.

Coach John Fox confirmed that the Broncos expect Tim Tebow to evolve into a traditional-style NFL quarterback as opposed to continuing the run option offense. "He is going to be a great quarterback in this league," Fox said. "How long it takes (and) when? I can't tell you. But he's going to be that guy in a regular NFL offense." Fox won't "totally abandon" elements of the option that work in Tebow's favor, but the Broncos want him to "make those strides" toward improving in the pocket, going through progressions, and reading defenses.

Broncos coach John Fox insisted Thursday that he's "very comfortable" with Tim Tebow as his quarterback. "He did lead us to the playoffs," Fox allowed. However, he also offered another clue that the Broncos have no plans to further tailor their offense to Tebow's skill-set, saying the team is open to adding "any" style quarterback this offseason. Tebow should enter 2012 as the Broncos' starter, but there's been zero indication he'll be on a long leash.

In an interview with GQ magazine, Broncos VP of Football Operations John Elway said he gets encouraged about Tim Tebow when he sees him "working within the system." "I get encouraged when I see him working within the system and throwing on time, with good feet," Elway said. That, to me, is where he's getting better." Elway's comments are the latest indication the Broncos hope to mold Tebow to their offense instead of vice-versa. If Tebow can't impress his Hall-of-Fame boss with better play in the traditional areas of quarterbacking in 2012, he likely isn't long for Denver.

Broncos VP of Football Operations John Elway confirmed Monday that the team intends to add two new quarterbacks this offseason to compete with Tim Tebow in training camp. They'll bring four quarterbacks to camp, including Tebow and 2011 practice squad QB Adam Weber. "It's still way too early how we get those quarterbacks," Elway acknowledged. Elway did reiterate that Tebow is "going to come into our camp as the starting quarterback. He's young. He can get better."
