Tim Tebow has replaced an ineffective Kyle Orton in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Chargers.
At long last, it's Tebow time. Orton has been absolutely brutal today, making poor decisions, getting picked off once and having a few more passes nearly intercepted. Now coach John Fox is turning to Tebow to provide a spark. Although his passing mechanics and footwork are messy, Tebow's running ability makes him a must-add in fantasy. In three starts last season, Tebow averaged 217.0 yards passing per game, 66.3 yards rushing and scored seven total touchdowns.

Broncos beat writer Lee Rasizer advises not to look for Tim Tebow to replace Kyle Orton "any time soon."
Broncos fans are already clamoring for Tebow, but coach John Fox is sticking to his belief that Tebow isn't ready and the offense would have to be scrapped to make the change. ESPN's Chris Mortensen suggested Thursday that the Broncos won't consider a QB switch because they're not ready to go to Brady Quinn yet. While we still believe Tebow will make starts this season, it's not on the immediate horizon.

ESPN's Bill Williamson says he "could see" the Broncos turning to Tim Tebow after their Week 6 bye.
If Kyle Orton struggles at home against San Diego this week and the Broncos fall to 1-4, the Tebow cries are going to become deafening. It's a situation to monitor in all formats as Tebow has elite fantasy upside despite his struggles as a passer. In three starts last season, Tebow averaged 217.0 yards passing per game, 66.3 yards rushing and scored seven total touchdowns.

The Denver Post's Mike Klis reports Tim Tebow will see snaps at quarterback against the Packers on Sunday.
Tebow, who has yet to take the field as a quarterback this season, will likely be called on in the red zone and short-yardage situations. He was used similarly early on in 2010 by former HC Josh McDaniels, and was primarily tasked with running the ball. The Broncos enter Week 4 with the NFL's 28th ranked rushing attack, while Green Bay is sporting the league's No. 1 run defense. If Tebow has any sort of success today, either through the air or on the ground, it will only fan the flames of what is fast becoming an unstable quarterback situation in Denver.

Broncos coach John Fox insisted Monday that Tim Tebow is a quarterback, and not a wide receiver after taking some snaps in the slot in Week 2.
"He is a quarterback," said Fox. Tebow didn't catch any passes and was only inserted due to an emergency situation. The Broncos will likely sign another wide receiver this week with Brandon Lloyd and Eddie Royal nursing balky groins.

HC John Fox said at his Monday press conference that the Broncos have no plans to move Tim Tebow to receiver.
Tebow took a few snaps at wideout on Sunday, but Fox insists it was only due to the injuries of Brandon Lloyd and Eddie Royal. The move was made possible after Tebow recently asked to play receiver on the Broncos' scout team as opposed to standing on the sideline at practice. It's a creative way to get the embattled former first-round pick on the field, and we could see it again before the season is through.

Tim Tebow confirms that the Broncos' game plan hasn't called for him to replace Kyle Orton for special packages in the red zone.
"I don't necessarily think it's something that we've really repped a lot or it's in the game plan," Tebow said. "But if they wanted to dial it up I'm sure we've repped that stuff enough times just to go out there and run it."

When asked if he considered making a quarterback change Monday night, coach John Fox ignored the question.
Kyle Orton took five sacks and lost a key fumble on a non-contact play in the second half. That left the Broncos fans chanting for Tim Tebow. Still, Fox isn't even going to go there yet -- especially considering Brady Quinn appears to currently be primary backup. Orton has a much longer leash than one game after running away with the job in preseason.

Coach John Fox doesn't plan to publicly announce a No. 2 quarterback prior to the season opener.
Fox cites the NFL's new rule allowing the third QB to enter the game like any other player as his reason for keeping a lid on the depth chart. Fox's staff hasn't talked openly about using Tim Tebow out of the Wildcat in short-yardage situations. We suspect Brady Quinn would take over mid-game in the event of a Kyle Orton injury. Tebow would seem more likely to start if it's a multi-week injury.

Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn both got first-team reps Thursday as Kyle Orton (personal) left practice early.
Orton is presumed to have left to be with his pregnant wife. The usage suggests that Tebow is still very much in the mix for the backup job and not a fourth-stringer like one report earlier this week suggested. The Associated Press expects Tebow to be the first one in after Orton in Saturday's third preseason game.
