Griffin notched eight receptions on 10 targets for a total of 52 yards in Thursday's 27-0 loss to the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
The tight end often found himself as Brock Osweiler's safety valve on a night where the Patriots secondary did an excellent job of taking away DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller. Griffin paced the team in both receptions and targets, four days after only hauling in one catch against the Chiefs. Although the performance was certainly encouraging and Griffin has displayed some serviceable pass-catching skills in his first three seasons in limited opportunity, the majority of Osweiler's attention still figures to drift toward his pair of stellar wideouts on the majority of weeks.

Griffin caught one of two targets for five yards in Sunday's win over Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
The Texans are looking like a two-target team early on, with receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller combining for 54.4 percent of the targets thus far. That has left little room for Griffin or even starting tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz to make a mark. Rookie tight end Stephen Anderson actually leads the position group with five catches, six targets and 40 yards through two weeks.

Griffin caught both of his targets for 17 yards in the Texans' 23-14 win over the Bears in Week 1.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin and Houston's other tight ends were targeted seven times in the regular-season opener, a sign that the position group might be used more in the offense in 2016 than we've seen in the past two seasons. Of note, the tight end leader in targets was rookie Stephen Anderson, who caught his three targets for 25 yards. Despite increased usage relative to last season, Griffin, Anderson and C.J. Fiedorowicz remain well behind the wideouts in terms of targets.

Griffin caught his only target for a seven-yard gain in Sunday's preseason game against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
According to Pro Football Focus, Griffin and C.J. Fiedorowicz and each got nine snaps on the first-team offense, even though the latter is listed atop the depth chart. Fiedorowicz's large frame and blocking ability should make him the top option for early-down snaps, but Griffin and/or UDFA Stephen Anderson figure to get a lot of the work in passing situations.

Griffin has made a full recovery from an Achilles injury that prevented him from participating in organized team activities and minicamps, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin has been knocking off the rust during training camp as Texans coaches talk up all of the team's tight ends. The position has been barely visible in the offensive attack the last two seasons, but the chatter coming out of training camp this season suggests a larger role for Griffin and C.J. Fiedorowicz in 2016. It's hard to buy into that when the personnel hasn't changed, but we'll keep an open mind.

Griffin returned to camp Thursday after getting a day off to rest an Achilles injury that kept him from participating in offseason activities, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin's been a target leader at tight end the past couple of seasons, but there's been some training camp buzz about C.J. Fiedorowicz's improved hands and the athletic ability of undrafted free agent Stephen Anderson. Griffin may not be a lock to lead the team's tight ends in targets this coming season.

Head coach Bill O'Brien expects Griffin (Achilles) to be healthy for the start of training camp, the Texans' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Texans tight ends combined for just 77 targets and 41 receptions last season, Griffin did lead the way with 32 and 20, respectively, despite losing seven games to injury. The team didn't address the position with any notable free agents or draft picks, but rookie UDFA Stephen Anderson could compete for a role in the slot. Houston hasn't had a fantasy-relevant tight end since Garrett Graham put together a solid stretch during the middle of the 2013 season.

Griffin is currently sidelined with an Achilles injury, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin, who led Houston's tight ends with 20 receptions in 2015, is expected to be back by the time training camp rolls around. In the Texans' system, Griffin is considered the pass-catcher among the team's tight ends.

Griffin was targeted eight times and had three catches for 29 yards in Saturday's 30-0 playoff loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin became the Texans primary receiving tight end once he was activated mid-season off short-term injured reserve. During the regular season, Griffin had 20 catches (34 targets) and two touchdowns in nine games. Despite Griffin's eight targets in the playoff loss, the tight end position has never evolved into a big target in head coach Bill O'Brien's passing offense.

Griffin (Achilles) caught all three of his targets for 30 yards in Houston's 30-6 win over Jacksonville in Week 17.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin finishes the season on an up note, having caught all six targets over the final three weeks of the regular season. In the game prior to the three-game finishing stretch, Griffin had caught one of six targets with a couple of high-profile drops in a loss to New England.
