Griffin did not play a single snap in last week's loss to the New York Giants. Griffin was beat out by rookie C.J. Fiedorowicz for the backup tight end job and then found himself with little to do when both the rookie and Garrett Graham were healthy for the first time this season in Week 3.

Griffin caught one pass on two targets in Sunday's win over Washington. Griffin is listed as the Texans' No. 3 TE behind Garrett Graham and C.J. Fiedorowicz, but when either of them are banged up, which they both are currently, Griffin is a candidate for added snaps.

Griffin caught all five of his targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game against the Broncos. An excellent preseason stat line, but one that was earned entirely in the second half. Though he was impressive Saturday night, Griffin has been the odd man out thus far. According to Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle, Garrett Graham and C.J. Fiedorowicz dominated the first-team snaps during Saturday's game. If he's going to break through, Griffin will likely have to cut into the snaps given to Graham, who did not record a target in Saturday's contest. Fiedorowicz is largely valued for his blocking as an in-line tight end, while Graham and Griffin are more of "move" tight ends, often working wide from the formation.

Griffin saw one target in Saturday's preseason opener against the Cardinals. Griffin, Garrett Graham and C.J. Fiedorowicz are all in the mix for playing time, with Graham listed atop the initial depth chart. The Texans are expected to make heavy use of two-tight end sets, but Griffin is a risky option so long as his role is uncertain. Hopefully, the preseason and remainder of training camp will provide some clues. With neither Griffin nor Graham highly regarded as a blocker, it's hard to imagine both drawing consistent snaps. Fiedorowicz is considered to be a much better blocker, but he probably won't be as big of a receiving threat, at least not as a rookie this season.

Ryan Griffin caught three passes for 49 yards in Week 17 against the Titans. Griffin, the 201st overall pick in April's draft, appeared in 15 games for the Texans as a rookie, starting eight of the final ten contests. He needs to be owned in all dynasty formats. Griffin is more athletic than Garrett Graham, while Owen Daniels is getting up there in age and has been hit by injuries in recent years. Griffin's season ends with 19 catches for 244 yards and one touchdown.

Texans TE Ryan Griffin (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice. Griffin is fully expected to start Sunday's game in place of Garrett Graham (hamstring). The Texans are just managing his reps.

Ryan Griffin is expected to draw another start in Sunday's game against the Broncos. Garrett Graham's hamstring isn't improving and there's nothing new on Owen Daniels (leg, short-term IR). Griffin played on every single snap in Week 15, catching six passes for 62 yards on six targets. He projects to be used similarly this week, the Texans are a good bet to be in comeback mode for virtually the entire game and Matt Schaub has a history of targeting tight ends in the red zone. Desperate Jordan Cameron owners can find some upside in Griffin.

Texans TE Ryan Griffin caught six passes for 62 yards in Houston's Week 15 loss to the Colts. Griffin did an excellent job filling in for Garrett Graham (hamstring), looking like no worse of a playmaker in the process. That being said, Griffin's fantasy value doesn't extend beyond deep Dynasty-league stash.

Texans agreed to terms with No. 201 overall pick TE Ryan Griffin on a four-year contract. Griffin stands in at an intriguing 6-foot-6, 247 pounds, though he won't run by anybody (4.87 40-yard dash) and needs work as a blocker. He has the inside track on the Texans' third tight-end spot behind Owen Daniels and Garrett Graham.
