Griffin is expected to play Monday against the Bengals, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin was activated from the Texans' short-term IR this week after spraining his knee in Week 1. Despite just returning to practice, it seems Griffin will already be available for Monday night's game against the Bengals, giving the Texans another tight end option to go with C.J. Fiedorowicz and Garrett Graham.

Griffin (knee) returned to practice Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin landed on the Texans' short-term IR after spraining his MCL during Week 1. Now eligible to return to practice, it remains to be seen when Griffin will be ready to play, but having him available adds to Houston's options of C.J. Fiedorowicz and Garrett Graham at tight end.

Griffin (knee) expects to return to practice next week, the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson reports.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin suffered a sprained MCL in the regular-season opener and was subsequently placed on IR/designated to return. If he's available after the Texans' Week 9 bye, he could take some snaps away from C.J. Fiedorowicz and/or Garrett Graham. The Texans have distributed just 35 targets to tight ends this season.

Griffin (knee) might return to practice this week, the Texans' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whether or not Griffin returns to practice is in the hands of the coaching staff and trainers. He said if he does practice this week, he will unlikely play Week 8 against Tennessee. With a bye week coming in Week 9, Griffin is shooting for a Week 10 return on Monday night against Cincinnati.

The Texans placed Griffin (knee) on the injured reserve-designated to return list Tuesday, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin was injured during the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. He the will not be allowed to appear in a game for eight weeks, so he will be sidelined at least through the Texans' Week 9 bye. Griffin started at tight end Sunday, and the Texans have yet to announce whether C.J. Fiedorowicz or Garrett Graham will replace him in the lineup in Week 2.

Griffin suffered a sprained MCL and will likely be out for a few weeks, the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson reports.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin isn't expected to require surgery, but he can likely be ruled out for Weeks 2 and 3. He caught one pass (four targets) for 18 yards in Sunday's game against the Chiefs, while Garrett Graham and C.J. Fiedorowicz only got one target apiece. None of the trio can be counted on for reliable production, but Griffin's injury could perhaps leave enough targets for Graham to establish deep-league value.

Griffin had one catch on one target for eight yards in the season-ending win over Jacksonville and finished the 2015 season with 10 catches on 16 targets for 91 yards and one touchdown.
This past season was a down year for all of the Texans' full-time tight ends. Griffin got most of his work in the final five games of the season when starter Garrett Graham was dealing with a sore ankle. It's unclear how the position will shake out in 2015: will the group get more balls thrown their way and is Griffin ahead of C.J. Fiedorwicz in terms of targeting?

Griffin had one catch on one target for 25 yards in Sunday's 27-13 win over Jacksonville.
Starting tight end Garrett Graham was sidelined with an ankle injury, giving Griffin an opportunity as a target. C.J. Fiedorowicz, who is a better blocking tight end than Griffin, got the start which is natural given Houston's reliance on the running game.
