Griffin was targeted three times but did not have a reception in Saturday's 34-16 loss to the Patriots in their division-round playoff game.
EDGE Analysis
Houston's offense was a mess for much of the season, but the emergence of its tight ends was a bright spot. Griffin was targeted 74 times, catching 50 of them for 442 yards and two touchdowns. Both he and C.J. Fiedorowicz had career-best seasons in 2016. Not bad timing for Griffin, who enters free agency in the offseason. He's proven to be a capable target, catching 65 percent of his targets over the first four years of his career, and should generate interest on the market.

Griffin caught three of four targets for 29 yards in Houston's 27-14 win over Oakland in Saturday's AFC wild-card round playoff game.
EDGE Analysis
Quarterback Brock Osweiler got into a rhythm early using Griffin, who was the target on four of the first six attempts, Houston's tight ends have been Osweiler's safe house this season. While we expect the running game to figure prominently in next week's game plan against Kansas City or New England, when Osweiler throws, he often looks to Griffin or C.J. Fiedorowicz.

Griffin caught two of four targets for 10 yards in Houston's 24-17 loss to Tennessee in Week 17.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin, whose season continues onto the playoffs when the Texans host the Raiders on Saturday, finishes the regular season with career-highs in targets (74), receptions (50) and yards (442). It was surprising to see Houston involve their tight ends more in the passing attack -- fellow TE C.J. Fiedorwicz also broke through with 89 targets and 54 catches -- but they became a necessity as quarterback Brock Oswieler never consistently got on the same page with the team's wide receivers. As such, the passing attack pivoted to short-to-medium range options. Griffin picked a fine time to set career-highs as he enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

Griffin saw two targets but was held without a catch during the Texans' 12-10 victory over the Bengals on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
With C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) back in the lineup, Griffin didn't come close to matching last week's 85-yard effort as he saw just 19 offensive snaps compared to Fiedorowicz's 43 and clearly operated as the Texans' No. 2 tight end. However, this was the first time all season Griffin has been held without a catch, so expect him to be more involved in Houston's season finale next week against the Titans.

Griffin caught all eight of his targets for 85 yards in Sunday's comeback victory over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
He caught balls from multiple quarterbacks, as starting signal-caller Brock Osweiller was benched mid-way through the second quarter in favor of Tom Savage. The quarterback switch seemed to be the spark that ignited their come-from-behind victory. It is unclear who will be throwing in Griffin's direction next week, but odds would seemingly favor the team sticking with Osweiller, given his offseason contract. The eight catches matched a season high for Griffin, who will look to carry that momentum into a matchup against the Bengals on Christmas Eve.

Griffin is expected to start at tight end Sunday against the Jaguars with C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) sidelined, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tight end has taken on greater significance with Brock Osweiler in the fold, benefiting what was deemed to be a blocker-heavy corps prior to this season. Fiedorowicz has proceeded to rank second among Texans in catches (48), targets (75), and receiving touchdowns (three), but Griffin isn't too far behind with 40 receptions (on 61 targets) for 347 yards and two touchdowns. If even a portion of those reps land on Griffin's shoulders, he could again hit pay dirt against a Jacksonville defense that surrendered one of his two scores earlier this season.

Griffin caught both of his targets for 23 yards in Houston's 22-17 win over Indianapolis in Week 14.
EDGE Analysis
Houston's game plan was to lean heavily on the ground game, which was successful and limited any receiver's impact. One item to monitor in the week ahead as Houston prepares for Jacksonville in Week 15 is the concussion injury suffered by starting tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz, as reported by Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. If Fiedorowicz is unavailable against the Jaguars, Griffin becomes the lead tight end. That position group has been productive for quarterback Brock Osweiler and leads the team in catch percentage.

Griffin hauled in four receptions on six targets for 35 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's loss to the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin remains behind C.J. Fiedorowicz in the Texans' pecking order at tight end, but that didn't keep him from finding the end zone on Sunday. Griffin has now caught at least three passes in five consecutive weeks, but his fantasy value is limited to much deeper leagues. Look for him to play a similar role next week against the Colts.

Griffin caught four of five targets for 36 yards in Houston's 21-13 loss to San Diego in Week 12.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin has clearly taken a secondary receiving role to fellow tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz, but he's getting four to five targets per game. Additionally, quarterback Brock Osweiler has developed a better rapport with the team's tight ends than with the wideouts, so Griffin remains a viable option most weeks.

Griffin nabbed three of five targets for 32 yards in Monday's loss to the Raiders.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin's remarkable consistency continues with either two or three catches in seven consecutive games. That's not much, but Griffin is worth keeping an eye on. He scored his first touchdown of the season last week and Houston seems to be eyeing an expanded red-zone role for him. Griffin has been targeted twice in the red zone in Houston's two games after its bye, as many as he saw in the first eight games of the season.
