Mike Wallace attributes his uncharacteristic drops this season to a lack of focus caused by his diminished role in Todd Haley's spread-the-wealth offense. "The first three years I was always involved, so you just warmed up in games, and you were just into it," explained Wallace. "But when you don't get the ball for two-and-half quarters, you lose focus. But that's the type of offense this is." It doesn't take a genius to see that the impending free agent and now "co-starter" is entering his final stretch of games in Pittsburgh. The writing is on the wall, though Wallace hasn't done his market value any favors with his inconsistent effort his season.

Mike Wallace (knee) is practicing in full for Week 14. Coach Mike Tomlin indicated early in the week that Wallace is dealing with knee soreness, but it's a minor issue. Of greater concern is the decline in snaps while sharing the starter role with Emmanuel Sanders. On a positive note, Wallace did see a respectable eight targets in Week 13.

Mike Wallace played on 41-of-67 offensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Ravens. In his first game as a "co-starter" with Emmanuel Sanders (49 snaps), Wallace's playing time was reduced. During the first 11 games of the year, he played on 83 percent of the snaps. These 41 plays represent a 61-percent clip. Still, Wallace can do plenty of damage with this usage, especially once Ben Roethlisberger returns. Charlie Batch targeted Wallace a healthy eight times against the Ravens.

Mike Wallace caught five passes for 44 yards in Pittsburgh's Week 13 win over the Ravens. It was another uninspiring day at the office for Pittsburgh's would-be No. 1 receiver, as he let a potential deep gainer roll off his hands in the first half. However, he was also overshot by Charlie Batch on a likely 30-yard touchdown with time running out in the second quarter. Wallace rolled his ankle late in the fourth quarter, but returned from the sideline after only one play. Listed as a co-starter with Emmanuel Sanders on the Steelers' Week 13 depth chart, Wallace was on the field for Pittsburgh's first passing play, along with Sanders and Antonio Brown. Currently on pace for a 69/821/8 line, Wallace has been one of the more disappointing receivers in fantasy football. Ben Roethlisberger's potential Week 14 return should help his fortunes.

Mike Wallace was held without a catch on six targets in the Steelers' Week 12 loss to the Browns. Wallace was set up for failure. He saw shadow coverage from Joe Haden and Charlie Batch was predictably inept. Wallace did have an impact on the game as a fourth-quarter slant route was thrown behind him, bouncing off his hands for an interception. Wallace needs to be benched until Ben Roethlisberger (ribs) gets back under center.

Mike Wallace was held to three catches for 26 yards in Pittsburgh's Week 11 loss to the Ravens, and also lost a fumble. It was an inglorious night for Pittsburgh's No. 1 receiver, who also failed to dive for a catchable ball in the second half or get his feet in-bounds on a potential touchdown. It was an effort that called to mind Dwayne Bowe's leaner afternoons. Wallace now has just nine catches for 106 yards over his past three games. With Ben Roethlisberger not expected back for Week 12 against the Browns, Wallace will be a strict WR2 bordering on WR3.

Mike Wallace caught just three passes for 14 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's Week 10 overtime win over the Chiefs. Wallace was targeted eight times on the night and had a potential first half 44-yard deep pass touchdown glance off his fingertips in the end zone. Once Ben Roethlisberger left the game at the start of the third quarter with a right shoulder injury, Emmanuel Sanders became the favorite target of Byron Leftwich. Big Ben's status is uncertain, but we'd consider him doubtful for Week 11 at this point. Leftwich has a big arm, but OC Todd Haley may not dial up many deep shots to Wallace with the back-up quarterback in the game. Pittsburgh could lean heavily on the running game. This is pure speculation for right now, though.

Mike Wallace said he's "learning to accept" his role in the Steelers' dink and dunk offense. Wallace caught a 51-yard touchdown in last week's win over the Giants, but he created about 45 of those yards after the catch with blazing speed. On the season, he's averaging just 13.5 yards per catch. Blame OC Todd Haley. "I'm kind of understanding my role in the offense, it's not just to go deep any more, (it's) kind of short, and it's just learning to accept that," Wallace said. He's still a strong WR2 thanks to his YAC ability and playmaking skills.
