The Miami Herald expects the Dolphins to pursue both Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings in free agency. Specifically, beat writer Armando Salguero expects the Dolphins to "work it" with both. Salguero had previously said he expected Wallace to be the Dolphins' main target, with Jennings "also in the mix." Most signs are pointing toward the Dolphins thinning this year's strong receiver crop soon after free agency begins on March 12.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer believes it's a "realistic possibility" the Browns pursue free agent Mike Wallace. Per beat writer Mary Kay Cabot, Wallace to the Browns is something to "keep an eye on." However, Kay Cabot isn't yet basing her opinion on league or team sources, and instead just connecting the dots. The Browns are awash in cap space, and adding a field-stretching vertical compliment to the strong young duo of Josh Gordon and Greg Little would give new coach Rob Chudzinski a dangerous receiver corps. Wallace would surely be intrigued by the possibility of facing his old team twice a year. If the price is right, of course.

According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, "many" in the Steelers' organization believe the division-rival Browns will sign free agent Mike Wallace. New Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslam is a former minority Steelers owner, and the new Browns coaching staff of Rob Chudzinski and Norv Turner believes in a vertical-oriented passing attack. Wallace, of course, is a vertical receiver. Still just 26 years old, Wallace figures to seek a four-year deal worth in excess of $10 million per season. Last offseason, Wallace lobbied the Steelers to pay him Vincent Jackson money (five years, $55.555 million).

The Miami Herald's "sense" is that the Dolphins will pursue free agent Mike Wallace, with free agent Greg Jennings "also in the mix." Jennings' relationship with coach Joe Philbin has made him a frequent target of Dolphins rumors, but it's Wallace who's one of the league's fastest players and entering his prime. However, Wallace should command a much larger commitment, both in years and dollars. That might not be a problem for Miami, as a "close associate" of owner Stephen Ross tells the Herald he's prepared to "spend a lot of money."

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette considers the Steelers and free agent Mike Wallace likely to "part ways."

Per CBS' Jason La Canfora, free agent Mike Wallace is said to be seeking $10-$11 million per year on his next contract. According to La Canfora's sources, the Steelers are not planning on franchising Wallace, and they do not anticipate meeting his aforementioned salary demands, even though it's expected that other teams will value him at that rate. Wallace has certainly played his last down for the Steelers. Wallace, 26, will be aiming for what Vincent Jackson got from the Bucs last offseason -- five years, $55.55 million with $26 million guaranteed.

GM Kevin Colbert says it's "very doubtful" the Steelers use the franchise tag. "I don't think we have too many franchise players," Colbert said bluntly. It's the strongest indication yet the Steelers plan to let Mike Wallace hit the open market, where he'd almost certainly receive an offer the Steelers couldn't match. Despite a down 2012, the 26-year-old Wallace figures to be the most sought after free agent wideout.

It's reportedly "unlikely" that the Steelers use their franchise tag on impending free agent Mike Wallace.

Team sources tell the Miami Herald the Dolphins have "every intention" of pursuing impending free agents Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings if they reach the open market. However, the same source tells reporter Armando Salguero the Dolphins "will be careful not to overvalue players who aren't truly stars." Good luck with that. Pursuing Wallace, Jennings or Dwayne Bowe would make perfect sense for a team with one of the league's worst receiver corps, but it's easier said than done. All three could still remain with their current teams, and are ripe targets for foolish bidding wars. However, if Miami strikes out in free agency, it will have to place am emphasis on wideout in the draft, as building-block QB Ryan Tannehill simply has no one to throw to.
