Doctson (Achilles) was limited in Thursday's practice, Brian McNally of 106.7 The Fan DC reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson's limited practice session Wednesday was merely an estimate based on his activity level, which included running routes but no 1-on-1 work. With the release of the Redskins' first official injury report of the season Thursday, he upheld a similar standard. Ideally, he'll ramp up his workload as the week progresses, but a game-time call for Monday's opener versus the Steelers appears to be in the offing.

Doctson (Achilles) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Jay Gruden deems his rookie wideout "day-to-day," which was backed up by Doctson failing to partake in 1-on-1 drills but instead running routes during the individual part of practice. As the week goes on, a full practice would clearly pave the way for active status Monday against the Steelers, but murkiness continues to characterize his immediate availability.

Doctson (Achilles) was a full participant at Monday's practice, but he did say afterward that he expects to start the season with a limited role, the team's official website reports. "I'm not going to step foot on Monday night or put a uniform on there and get myself embarrassed," Doctson said. "We've got guys, Pierre, Jackson, Crowder, Reed, we've got guys who are going to get it done. If somebody gets tired, I'm going to go in there and help out. That's my position.
EDGE Analysis
Finally activated from the PUP list on Saturday, the Redskins' first-round draft pick practiced with his teammates Monday for the first time since OTAs in May. Doctson still remains questionable for Monday's opener against the Steelers, and as suggested by his comments, active status probably won't lead to a significant role. He does still have a shot to push Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder for snaps -- perhaps even within the first few weeks of the season.

Doctson (Achilles) returned to practice Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Taking the field in pads for the first time since rookie minicamp, Doctson was seen cutting while running a route. This appears to be a natural progression from the last week of August, when he was increasing his activity level during individual drills. If he continues to ramp up his workload in practice this week, there's a chance that he'll fulfill head coach Jay Gruden's expectation of active status in Week 1.

Doctson (Achilles) has increased his activity level in individual drills at recent practices, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though still limited to individual work on a side field, Doctson is reportedly running fast and making cuts, which suggests he could join his teammates at practice before Week 1 against the Steelers. The rookie's extended absence has prevented him from pushing Pierre Garcon or Jamison Crowder for regular snaps, but it's still possible Washington will want to take advantage of Doctson's size when the team approaches the goal line.

Doctson (Achilles) is expected to be ready for Week 1, according to head coach Jay Gruden.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson has been dealing with a lingering Achilles injury all offseason, which has kept him on the PUP list this preseason. Gruden also made note that the wideout may be ready in time for the final preseason game, but the coaching staff hasn't made any official decisions at the moment. When healthy, Doctson has a chance to be the No. 3 receiver with Jamison Crowder (knee) also dealing with several injuries this preseason. The rookie is expected to work on running and cutting drills this week in practice but will have to be removed from the PUP list before he can take the field.

Doctson (Achilles) is expected to increase his activity level to include running and cutting drills this week, The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson's strained Achilles has left him only able to jog and participate in team calisthenics to this point, but with the regular season fast approaching, the Redskins want to see if he can complete more activities this week. As a result, Washington's first-rounder is planned to test his Achilles by running and cutting. If all goes well, Doctson could hopefully be activated from the PUP list in time for the regular season, but he remains unavailable for the team as of now, and would probably take some time to get up to speed even if ready for Week 1.

Doctson (leg) increases level of activity at practice but remains without a timeline to return, ESPN reports. "He's progressing nicely," head coach Jay Gruden commented regarding the situation. "I don't have any expectations for him whatsoever. I'm just trying to adhere and listen to what the trainers are telling me. We'll just wait and see. He's going to progress slowly. We'll take our time with him and when he feels right and the time is right, then we will push him hard and let him practice."
EDGE Analysis
Doctson, the 22nd overall pick in April, currently resides on the team's PUP list due to an Achilles injury he suffered in May. However, he appears to be recovering well. The progress Gruden alluded to was that, previously, Doctson had been limited to catching balls on the sidelines largely while standing still. On Wednesday, though, Doctson also began jogging and took part in team calisthenics. Gruden's comments make it clear the Redskins will bring Doctson along slowly, and with a receiving corps currently boasting the likes of DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder in tandem with TE Jordan Reed, that appears to be a wise approach. Nonetheless, it still looks like it will still take some time for Doctson to return to full capacity and he should be considered week-to-week for the foreseeable future.

Doctson (Achilles) will be out for at least another week or two, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Initially expected to return within the first two weeks of training camp, Doctson has already missed nearly three weeks of practice and apparently isn't progressing as expected. At this point, it's fair to question whether he'll make an appearance during the preseason, as he's been dealing with the same Achilles issue since at least mid-June. Doctson's continued absence has probably ruined any shot he might have had to push Pierre Garcon or Jamison Crowder for the No. 2/3 wide receiver jobs ahead of Week 1.

Doctson (Achilles) is not expected to miss more than two weeks of training camp, Dianna Marie Russini of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson caused some concern when he was seen in a walking boot Wednesday, but it is not due to any setbacks. He currently projects to be the third wide out on the Redskins' depth chart, and should return in time to get plenty of work in with Kirk Cousins prior to Week 1.
