Doctson (achilles) is in a walking boot, but that isn't due to any setbacks, Mike Jones of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson hasn't practiced with the team at all in training camp after missing most offseason work as well. Some have taken him recently wearing a walking boot as a sign of a setback but the team has said it's just a way of resting his foot as he continues to work his way back. They had previously stated that he wouldn't play until he was 100 percent and as time goes on it becomes less clear when he'll return. The longer he's out the harder it'll be for him to see the field when the regular season starts, especially early on.

Coach Jay Gruden stated Thursday that Doctson (foot/Achilles) will remain sidelined until he's 100 percent.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson's placement on the active/PUP list belied the expectation that he'd be healthy at the outset of training camp, but tendinitis in his left Achilles and a separate foot injury will keep him away from the practice field. Considering the season is a marathon -- and not a sprint -- it behooves Washington's staff to take a cautious approach with the 22nd overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. However, lacking Jamison Crowder's experience in the offense, Doctson is poised to fall even further behind in the competition for slotting in the receiving corps.

Doctson (foot/Achilles) was placed on the PUP list for the start of training camp, The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson is reportedly dealing with two separate injuries, with his foot likely a bigger concern than his Achilles. He was expected to be ready for the start of training camp, but he won't be on the field when the Redskins have their first team walk-through Thursday morning. The 22nd overall draft pick may have a hard time earning early-season snaps if he misses a significant portion of camp, as Washington returns DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder in a crowded receiving corps.

Doctson (Achilles) is expected to be healthy for the start of training camp in late July, The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 22nd overall pick in the 2016 draft, Doctson missed most of the offseason program due to soreness in his left Achilles. With no indication that the injury is a long-term concern, he should still have all of training camp to earn a role in a crowded wideout group that also includes DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder. Though not expected to open the season as a starter, Doctson should push for an immediate role on obvious passing downs and/or in the red zone.

Doctson (foot) continues to sit out practice due to a sore/tweaked Achilles, ESPN.com's John Keim reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson hasn't participated in on-field activities the past three weeks, but at this stage, the off-field stuff is probably more important for his development. It will only be a real concern if he's still limited for the start of training camp, which is more than six weeks away. Washington can afford to ease in its first-round draft pick, as the team is expected to retain last year's starting wideouts, DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon -- both entering the final seasons of their respective contracts. A strong training camp would go a long way toward helping Doctson earn snaps early in the season.

Doctson's foot injury is not considered a cause for concern and his absence from recent action has seemingly been for precautionary purposes, CSN Mid-Atlantic's Rich Tandler reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson missed some recent OTAs due to a reported foot issue, but his inactivity is mostly due to how early in the season it is, not how serious the injury is. While last week's X-rays returned negative, Doctson is still expected to take it easy to avoid any lingering symptoms. In the end, he should be fine when the Redskins need him most, which would help his push for a starting position during training camp.

Doctson didn't participate in Wednesday's OTA due to a foot injury, Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson missed part of last week's OTAs due to an achilles injury, but was expected to participate this week. It's unclear what exactly the injury to his foot is, but it was serious enough that after getting injured on Tuesday, Doctson had X-rays taken of his foot, which came back negative. Head Coach Jay Gruden said, "hopefully he'll be back next week or shortly thereafter," in regards to Doctson. Whatever the injury is, it doesn't seem likely to hold the rookie back too long, and he should be at full health by training camp at the latest.

Although Doctson tended to a sore Achilles in OTAs this week, Kirk Cousins believes the rookie wideout will be a "great weapon in the red zone," Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury concern notwithstanding, Doctson was tabbed 22nd overall last month to provide a bit of variety to a jam-packed receiving corps. Looking at Cousins' plans for the 6-foot-2, 206-pound rook, Doctson would seemingly be the other top red-zone threat with tight end Jordan Reed. Helping Doctson's cause in that realm is a 41-inch vertical leap, but in reality, his study of a voluminous playbook and chemistry with Cousins will be key in making an immediate impact as a professional.

The Redskins selected Doctson in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, 22nd overall.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson is the third receiver selected, immediately following Will Fuller (Houston) and Corey Coleman (Cleveland, 15th overall), but it's not difficult to imagine a future where he turns out the best of the bunch. If Kirk Cousins can maintain his high level of play, there's the potential for immediate fantasy impact here. Doctson has good size, great athleticism and even better college production to his credit, and players like DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder shouldn't be able to hold him off for too long. If Doctson can earn a starting role, he's a player worth investing in in redraft leagues, and in dynasty he's one of the top prospects available.
