Doctson (Achilles) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Still bothered by lingering soreness, Doctson will miss a fourth consecutive game, with no timetable laid out for his return. While he isn't expected to require surgery, he may need an extended period of rest in order for the soreness to fully subside, making injured reserve a distinct possibility. The team hasn't yet given up hope its first-round selection could contribute this season, but it might make sense to prioritize the future, as Doctson is stuck behind DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder on the depth chart.

Doctson (Achilles) is inactive for Sunday's Week 5 tilt versus the Ravens, the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie will miss his third straight game Sunday but will avoid injured reserve for the time being, as the Redskins continue to hold out hope that he'll be healthy enough to take the field in the near future. In the interim, Kirk Cousins will focus his attention on the trio of DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder, as well as tight end Jordan Reed.

Doctson (Achilles) could eventually land on injured reserve, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nothing is imminent, as the Redskins still believe their 2016 first-round selection could be healthy enough to play within the next few weeks. However, Doctson has already been told his Achilles will be a recurring problem, potentially limiting his impact even when/if he's able to play. For the time being, he'll miss a third consecutive game Sunday against Baltimore, with the team considering him week-to-week thereafter. He has minimal appeal in redraft leagues, but there's still plenty of long-term upside in dynasty formats.

Doctson (Achilles) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Baltimore.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Doctson will miss a third consecutive game, after suiting up in a limited role for the first two games of his rookie season. With the team already boasting strong depth in the receiving corps, Washington doesn't have much incentive to rush its 2016 first-round selection back into action. Even if he does return in the coming weeks, Doctson would likely just have a limited role behind DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder.

Doctson (Achilles) didn't practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Instead, Doctson worked out on a side field, according to Brian McNally of 106.7 The Fan DC. In his attempt to play through a sore Achilles the first two games of the season, Doctson flashed with a 57-yard catch in Week 2, but it was the sole highlight while hauling in two of six passes. In the meantime, he was a late scratch in Week 3 and ruled out prior to this past Sunday's win against the Browns. A multi-week absence has also been proposed by head coach Jay Gruden, so Docton's practice participation will be one to watch for the foreseeable future.

Doctson (Achilles) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Doctson will miss a second straight game and could be out beyond Sunday, as his troublesome Achilles still hasn't fully healed. The rookie only had a limited role Weeks 1 and 2, but his absence did allow Pierre Garcon to play a season-high 55 snaps in Week 3 against the Giants. Already hindered by a crowded depth chart, Doctson seems increasingly unlikely to have a big year-one impact.

Doctson could sit out multiple weeks due to a lingering Achilles injury, the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Initially listed as active in Week 3, the Redskins called an audible shortly thereafter and ruled the rookie wide receiver out after he emerged from pregame warmups feeling unwell. According to head coach Jay Gruden, "He just didn't feel comfortable. Couldn't push off the way he wanted to. So we had to make that last-minute switch [for fellow wideout Rashad Ross]." Doctson has since undergone a series of tests, but no structural damage has been revealed in his Achilles. Nonetheless, the Redskins appear to be leaning toward an extended absence in order to allow Doctson to approach 100 percent at some point during the season.

Doctson (Achilles) didn't feel well after pregame warmups and was thus a late scratch Sunday against the Giants in New York, Kimberly Jones of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perhaps a week of rest will do the rookie wide receiver wonders, but the development isn't the greatest omen for Doctson's foreseeable future. His practice participation will be of utmost interest in advance of Week 4.

Doctson (Achilles) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Giants in New York.
EDGE Analysis
The Redskins initially listed Doctson as active but changed their tune shortly thereafter. Perhaps the rookie wideout's Achilles injury may have flared up, or the training staff decided that a week off would be beneficial. In any case, Kirk Cousins isn't starving for threats in the passing game with DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Jamison Crowder, Jordan Reed, and Chris Thompson at his disposal.

Doctson (Achilles) is listed as active Sunday against the Giants in New York.
EDGE Analysis
The Redskins have operated with caution as it pertains to Doctson's health this season. While a sound decision, his Achilles was only able to handle a small boost in snaps between Week 1 (21 percent of the offensive snaps) and Week 2 (28 percent), so a similar increase is a plausible outcome Sunday. In a receiving corps composed of wideouts DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, and Jamison Crowder; tight ends Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis; and running back Chris Thompson, Doctson will likely find difficulty drawing attention from quarterback Kirk Cousins until his Achilles concern is a thing of the past.
