Bostic (foot) signed a contract with the Colts on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bostic last played in a game while with the Patriots in 2015. He spent 2016 with the Lions but wound up on injured reserve prior to the start of the regular season. He'll compete for a depth linebacker and special teams role with the Colts in 2017.

Bostic (foot) was seen working with trainers on the sidelines at Wednesday's practice, MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bostic was placed on injured reserve after going down with a fractured left foot in training camp. However, his increased activity Wednesday suggests Detroit may have made a decision regarding which one player they want to activate from IR. Such a notion would mean RB Ameer Abdullah (foot) is completely done for the season.

Bostic (foot) was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Bostic had surgery on his foot about three weeks ago and was expected to land on IR. The move opens up a roster spot which the Lions use to sign Khari Lee.

Bostic (foot) did not practice Monday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Lions surprisingly opted to move Josh Bynes (knee) to their injured reserve list Sunday instead of Bostic. This could mean that Bostic is progressing in his recovery from foot surgery faster than expected, but it may also be just a matter of time before he ends up on that very list as well. Either way, his absence from Monday's practice isn't enough to support either theory, yet.

Bostic (foot) is expected to land on the IR, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bostic had surgery on his foot a little under two weeks ago and will now spend the season on the sidelines. With the 25-year-old headed to the IR, an extra spot potentially emerges for another linebacker on the roster bubble.

Bostic had surgery on his foot and could miss significant time, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bostic's injury was initially undisclosed but thought to be serious. He had surgery on his fifth metatarsal in his foot, which can take six-to-eight weeks to recover from. It seems highly unlikely at this point that he'll be able to play in the Lions' regular season opener. Look for Antwione Williams to see extra time as long as Bostic is out.

The Patriots have traded Bostic to the Lions in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2017, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bostic ended up being the odd man out after New England signed Shea McClellin and then drafted Kamu Grugier-Hill and Elandon Roberts. He'll bolster the Lions' depth at linebacker, with his capabilities well-understood by GM Bob Quinn, formerly the Patriots director of pro personnel.
